I am here to please (myself). I'm considering not drinking for the first few weeks after I turn 21 so that the first time I go out drinking legally, it will be with perfect fucking vision. That would be totally tits.

Robby, thats totally awesome. Though you will have sad friends when they no longer get to giggle as you run into things while high.

Tip: get an image of boobs etched in on the implant so you can always see a nice pair. For obvious reasons don't black box them.

This is why I should be an eye surgeon.

Thanks. Apparently they're going to give me sleeping pill for after the surgery so I'll be knocked out and wake up with normal vision. That's going to be pretty weird after 10 years of shit poor vision, seeing without glasses or contacts.

That sounds bitchin!

Eye surgery is certainly alluring, but I'm not really all that bothered by glasses, just gotta get a pair that suit you well.

Contacts are a no-go for me. I just can't seem to get over poking my eye.

Why are you going with the implants? That's a far more complicated procedure than PRK or interlase-PRK. I don't know why all of you keep saying you want LASIK - LASIK is not the surgery you want to have when you're young, which I'm assuming almost everyone in this thread is.

It's possible for the flaps to open if you play spots, or in a car accident or something of the sort. They never heal fully. I had PRK and I'll never look back. Slower healing time, but well worth knowing that a) Nobody has EVER lost vision from PRK from the surgeon that did my surgery (over 5000 surgeries), and no chance of having a flap open up on me. No thanks.

Apparently interlase-PRK is the way to go now though - it's new technology, I didn't have the option when I had mine done. It's sort of like LASIK, in that they cut a flap, but they use a laser to cut it instead of a knife, so because it is so thin it heals fully, with about the same recovery time as LASIK.

The fellow shopped around and paid extra so that he could have "corrective" treatments in the future, if his vision changed.

Anyways - i don't know what happened, but now his eyes are always dry and scratchy and his vision is considerably worse than it was to begin with. :S
