Some Super Weird bridgesii Pups!
    #12506872 -

I have this one bridgesii that has 7 pups on it at once, and some of them are coming out of some super-weird places....

Here's the full thing, all 7 pups can be view from this picture.

Here's 3 pups coming out of the bottom and 2 of them are coming out directly on top of each other! I have no idea how that's going to work exactly, but I guess mother nature will figure it out.

Another of the whole thing

Another bridgesii with 2 pups

Pretty crazy pupppage on a Torch too...

Nice plants man!
All these pups mean your cacti root systems are healthy and pumping up.

Maybe by phototropy your plants have noticed its time to grow again.

Can't beat bridgesiies.

Did you just use the worm tea much as you would a liquid fertilizer and dilute it with water or did you just go full strength?

When you make your worm tea all you use is 2 socks full of the worm compost/castings into a 5 gallon and call it good after a few days.  Do you use the air stones with a pump or did you just stir it every once in awhile?

Read up on "aerobic compost tea" ... The basic idea of compost tea is that you are creating an environment where the aerobic (oxygen-loving, GOOD bacteria) would like to live by aerating the tank as you would a fish tank, with those bubbler stone things....

The way I make mine is I do that, and then I take two socks, stuff a BUNCH of my home-made worm castings in each one, tie a knot in the top, and hang it over the side of the bucket, just like a giant tea-bag of sorts.

The only thing I put in there is worm castings.... But I've heard you can take a handful of soil from the garden and put that in another sock and throw that in there too...

As impeachme2 said, you want to think organic, organic, organic when making compost tea....

Harsh nutrients will kill these beneficial bacteria that you sort of "brew" up in this process, making it kind of pointless to do in the first place...

So yeah, aerate the shit out of it, around 4 bubblers or more is what I read... I have 4 going in mine and I'm about to add another 2... You can get an aerator that has 4 ports though so you can connect 4 at a time to it... Mine each do 2 though.

EDIT: I almost forgot... During this process you have to feed these beneficial, aerobic bacteria by giving them some sort of very basic sugar... I use specifically Black Strap Molasses because I've read that is best to use on one of the more popular "how to make worm tea or compost tea" sites.... If you google that you'll get a ton of results...

I do all of this in a Home Depot bucket, in case I didn't mention that before, since I'm really high right now.

ha I read that I just didn't remember the part describing the aeration process.  Still that doesn't answer my first question.

Oh and the cacti look like they were just building up with pressure and now they are exploding with new growth.  That is really amazing.  Good job themallacht I hope we get to see updates on these.

Yeah, I'll definitely keep updating man... If you want to check out my other cacti, I've updated this post several times... It has my in-ground Trichocereus army (over 20 in-groud trichs, mostly bridgesii's)

@SirCypher: Yes, I generally use the socks full of worm castings for a while after that, definitely longer than 3 days... Until the water no longer turns a deep rich brown that you can't really see through. Probably more like every two weeks... I always take them out and dig around in there with my hands and whatnot too, and kind of wring them out to get all that good brown goop out of the castings... The good stuff...

Holy crap that thing is awesome.

My San Pedro twins each have a few pups coming off the bottom like that, they grow real fast and get huge.

That thing is going to be a monster

No, not necessarily... They pup to propagate their species... This one pupped that much simply by chance, that's why it's so cool...

You are doing it right! That's amazing pupping on your plants. I'll have to brew mine some worm tea, too
