we all know heat rises, so what the oven tek does is heat up the air, and the spores are kept above your workstation, it seems pretty safe, just make sure you work with the bottom-most rack

I think oven innoculation is MUCH easier than a glove box for brown rice/ vermiculite. Not that I've built a glove box, but I used the oven tech and the results were okay...no contaminated jars out of 12 so far.

As stated above, just make sure to use the bottom rack and not let the syringe near the heat for more than a second or two. Heat will KILL the spores...

All I can say is this...it does work very well. A lone time ago I tried to do the shrooms thing. I didn't have a glove box or nothing. I constantly got green, useless jars.

Then one day I read about the oven technique. It works VERY well. I highly recomend it. (not I used a Gas oven...never tried with an electric)

Don't forget to wipe off the needle and tops of the jars with a disinfectant soaked rag or paper towel, this will only protect from airborn contaminents.

go with a glovebox.
the oven works but is very dependant on a number of things...
a clean oven and kitchen, not too hot, gotta stay under the air flow, etc.
a very simple glovebox can be made with a cardboard box, some saran wrap, some duct tape and an old button-up shirt.
tape one box end shut, cut a window out of the top and cover with saran taped into place,
cut off the other flaps, tape the shirt over the open end with the sleeves in.
to use, just spray everything with lysol and put your pre-wshed arms in thru the sleeves.
99% effective.
