well well well yall wanna diss my purple glovebox eh? Well check this glovebox out. I made this from scratch FOR 80 BUX!!! Home Depot is the place to be i can tell ya that! Everyhting i wanted i got there. Well anyways, lemme show u my pride and joy. Now i'm not done building her yet but she is gonna be a beaut.
This is her on the stand
The chamber its self is fermica i cut to perfect size
I put a lighter in there so u can grasp how big it really is!

I have to put the door on, which i am using a rubber seal around the dryer door, to put around my door so when its closed its got a nice seal also. Now the heating system is going to run up thru heat admitting cpvc pipes from a 10 gal tank fully insulated with water heater insulate ( to keep tank at desired temp). The pump will pump the heated water thru the system at the bottom just under where my casing trays will be. Now the air entrainment is gonna run from a ultrasonic humidifier into the top of the chamber and across the top of the chamber. The pipe running across the top will have small jets emitting humidity and fresh air thru the chamber. The trays will be placed so the air can stream right in the middle of them both and around the system via the walls. The plexiglass will bend over the left and right wall to make a nice round veiwing chamber, and a circular motion with the air coming out of the above jets. I will have valves placed before the entry of the of the humidity and air, so in case i have to shut it off. Now remember this globebox only took 80 bux to make considering i had the fermica to build and i had the ultrasonic humidifier also. So what yall think, i love it!!! i'm thinkin of sellin them, there soooo easy for me to make. So if ya want one at a good price PM me, we'll work out the details.

I don't think you can have a dash in the file name.
So rename them if you put the dash in the file name.
Example your file name was >> 73413-on
Make it 73413on instead.
Also you need to copy and paste the whole thing.
You pasted this >> [image]http://shroomery.org/wwwthreads/files/73413-on
You left the end off.
Use ] [ these where i use these } { as an example.

ya the plexiglass comes tomorrow after i werk all the pipes thru the system and remember thsi is fermica its impenetrable by water and air so it can't corrode. it'll all be done tomorrow and ready to test her out i'll take pics when i am testing tomorrow the finished product hehe

just on one note, i would polyurathane the areas that you cut, becase that is a great place for bactera and other things to grow (esp when wet) and I wouldnt want you to lose something that you have put a lot of time in because of one screwy detail.

Are you putting some type of water proofer on that wood?
Particle board + moisture= particles of wood... really. It will rot and fall appart if it gets too wet...

well i have a submersible water heater in a 10 gal tank underneath the chamber, now a pump will be pumpin 90F water thru a special heat emmiting tube called cpvp. this is gonna run from the 10 gal tnak up to teh chambe and into it running along the side (underneath teh casing trays) and out the opposite side, then makin a complete u turn and running back thru the system and out the side it came in back down to the 10 gal tank and that will complete the circulation. i will also have a water heater wrap around the tank to insulate it and keeping it at 90F
its perfect i'll post pics later i'm tired and crashin now wait till i'm done u'll get teh whole idea then!!!!

actually he was sellin it for i think 450$, heh, rip off considering i made it myself. But if i sold them i'd sell em for like 250 cause theres mad labor involved in construction. i will put pics up when i'm finished tomorrow!!! so check back to see the finished version

I am gonna start makin GB's on the regular now. If anyone wants one to fit a special place or a special size PM me i'll see if i can do
it. From the looks of this u can see all my shit will be quality!!!!
This is my first serious GB project, i'm alrdy thinken and brain storming on my next one!! I was thinken of making a drain to empty
the collectin water out of the bottom. i am cutting a circle outta my plexiglas window (that bends over the walls) and i'm puttin a 3'' x 3'' magnifying glass there so i can view my shroomies up close and personal yet still not taken it outta hte chamber!
Another thought of mine was to include a random syringe of mushies in every order along with the system.
I have wonderful ideas and i'm trying to get a webpage started for sellin GB's, so like i said b4 if u need a GB made feel freee to give me a PM i'm always online and i'm always on shroomery.
I'll post the finishing pics up tomorrow i put some new pics up above to show my progress, yes i'm a lil delayed but it'll be finished tomorrow.

Grow chamber=terrarium.......does NOT equal GLOVE BOX !!!!!! A glove box is for making agar ttransfers or innoculating jars... you don`t have humidifiers in one Do a search or something and get your terms right

Looks pretty cool man, I am interested in seeing the final product. One problem though, if this is all in one you cant be nocking up other jars while some are fruiting and you'll have to wait for a complete cycle before starting the next. Or do you have a plan for this? Any way thumbs up on a neat project.

Well this is my prototype! I plan on makin a diverse collection of systems. I was lookin at domain names for websites yesterday, i plan on makin a website and selling all my designs. I plan on having different class GB's. A to F classes meaning, A class will just be glovebox's for like agar transfers and inoculating, B class will be gloveboxes with temp control, C class will be gloveboxs with humidity control, class D will be gloveboxs with both humidity and temp control, now class F will be for when a person wants a personilzed glovebox or one made to fit a special dimension or area (like a closet) and be with all the bells and whistles attached i mean everythin from a magnifying glass built into the plexiglass (for viewing up close and personal with out removing from the chamber) and a special draining system for the water build up along the bottom. Each class will be a different price range meaning the higher the class the better the system the more it cost, for example A class will be $100 - $200 depending on size, and B class will be more and so on. Well i have 5 system currently in development, and there alll different and unique systems that i think will revolutionilize the home mushroom cultivation system. Now u can see i only work with quality and am currently helpin a couple of my customers, once i'm done and shipped there systems to them i'm sure i'll be hearing some good things! The website should be up i'm hoping by the end of this month. Oh also b4 i ferget along with every EVERY order comes a free random spore syringe and a tek (of my own design) to help u with ur new founded system.

i don't like to be simple i like to do things the hard way and this was alot of fun to make and its a system i can just sit back and watch i am only doing 1 set of jars at a time and yes i'm gonna weatherproof the wood and gualk every crevis up wait till u see the final product its gonna rock!

Im not making fun cause I think your work kicks some ass, but I dont think sales is a good idea. 1) I think most people if they are going to spend a couple hundred DO want mountains of mushies and like you said that isnt possible doing 1 set of jars at a time 2) When everything is in the same tank any contams can send your whole cycle to hell, that is why a lot of people always have a different batch ready , its like insurance on your time. 3) I think shipping is gonna be outragious on something that size. If you get orders great but I wouldnt build up an inventory, just do them as the orders come in. Also some people are realy slow when it comes to building things, have you considered selling plans for you tank with good instructions, tools needed, where to find supplies, etc. Good luck I am eager to see your finished project.

It's good to see a community be totally run down by people that really shouldn't take part in the community at all. For christ's sake, the man make a really nice grow chamber/glove box and people have to run the guy down. For what? Better than my setup, and it looks cool too, good job man.

THX least somone apprieciates my work, i mean i put alot of horus into this thing i am also cutting a hole in the plexiglass to fit a magnifying glass there perfectly and gaulk it all around it, this is to view the lil mushies inside up close and personal. i'm also gonna shilack the whole thing with thompsons' water sseal the best deck waterproofer, this thing is gonna be a tank. i have a refrigerator seal around my door so i know its gonna be a good air tight seal. i don't plan on sellin these things over a website i checked it out it'd take too much money outta my pocket fuck that ya know!! BUT if anyone wants my help witha GB or if they want the exact instructions to mine so they can build there own just PM me i'll be glad to share the wealth wit ya!!!

I have to agree with Womb.
Pretty sad when people put someone down when they are trying to better themself.

I apologize if I offended anyone. I guess the difference is in priorities, some people are going for the very nice controlled environment at whatever labor costs, while I prefer things like simplicity, low cost and easy concealability. Both are legitimate views I did not mean to start a flamewar.

I wish sean 1234 was here. He would explain in detail why this is not a glove box. But in short, It is not a glovebox a BECAUSE it is used for more than one thing. Glove boxs are used for sterile transfers. Nothing else.
Good luck. I do bet after you build and use this thing you will adopt a different method.

Now what I don't understand is why it matters what he calls it, I personally think it is pretty cool and I think someone has a confidence problem having to run around criticizing someone else because he called something by a name you didn't like. I say rock on eat me, and to those casting doubt I ask have you built anything like this??? I didn't think so, Then how to you know how it will turn out? exactly you don't, and BTW the original application of the glove box had nothing to do with mushroom cultivation in the first place so what one persons choses to do with it dose not mean anything.

First off its not done yet, the plexglass has to go on top of the walls to make it airtight. Second i will be doing alot of transfers and stuff just in cycles. Like when i'm inoculating, (i'll be putting them in jars) i'll open the system up inoc them, then take the jars out and put them in a incubator seperately on the side. I'll prepare inside for casing now. Once the jars are colonized i'll take them out the incubator and put them inside with the casing trays, some saran wrap and everything else to case them, then when done with casing trays saran wrap them nice and tightly to make sure there air tight. Open up again, take everything out and lysol and clean it again, then seal everything off. Fruit the trays and was also thinken of puttin a drying chamber in there too, so that i can dry each flush in the system without opening, BUT i'm still deciding on that. The system will be totally sealed off and that means it will be totally sterile. Now the real fucked up part is that i have to wait on finishing it cause i'm waiten on my timers and plexglass to come in, i snapped the other piece in half cause i dint predrill the holes (my mistake was anxious to finish it i guess). Now i'm hoping i will be done by the end of next week. *wishes*

Yes, i was gonna build like a lil seperate room inside it, like a lil box wit a door to open and put the lil guys in there, and anyways i was just throwing some thoughts in the air. But i love the insight. That guy just doesn't understand that he is makin a fool of himself, cause in all actuality this thread is for ideas not for people to put down other peoples ideas. I'm glad Thor is considering to change these forums so we can eliminate this childish behavior. I'm 19 abt to b 20 and i think i have some good ideas to share with everyone, plus we're here to learn from others mistakes, thats what makes us truly learn. I'd like to thank u enter for takin ur time to help me and i'm glad i can help u too.
