There is no true existance, only possibilities and perceptions
    #12360970 -

The pure distinction in the world is possibility, not actuality or existance.

All things that are possible exist, in the purest sense.

Contradiction = non-existance.

The human mind entertains specific possibilities, and relates them with probability.

Furthermore, there are the senses. The brain computes the senses and uses weighted probabilities such that particular possible perceptions are considered worthy of entertaining. These perceptions inform my conscious experience. They also interact with other processes in my brain or otherwise which can also influence which possible perceptions are entertained.
The fact that the pure distinction in the world is possibility, is interwoven with what we call Logic. Logic is so powerful because it symbolically taps into the pure distinction.

The 'Actual World' is merely the particular possibility that we consider most probable, in accordance with all of the weighted probabilities of all entertained possibilities.

Existance is just an entertained possibility. 'Actual' Existance or 'Real' existance is the possibility that conforms with the whole of the probability-designated perceptions percieved by self and reported by others.
We each have our empirical aparatus - our sense perceptions provided by certain brain computations. From all of the propositions that we can entertain that are consistent with our senses and the reported senses of others, we produce a proposition, a non-contradiction, a possibility, which is deemable as the most probable.

Our thought process involves having a set of possibilities, and then entertaining one proposition, and then having another set of probabilities, entertaining one. there is no certain knowledge that distinguishes between the probability of different possibilties. however, at each step of the way, as new possibilities are entertained, new contradictions arise. And so, using logic we can often know certain truths within a given context, which we define by the entertained possibilities leading onto them. These prior entertained possibiliites can be called premises. So although we can derive definate truths from various entertained possibilities, we cannot be definate that those possibilities are themselves definately true. unless of course these possibilities have been derived from prior logical arguments.

There is no totally Logical truth because possibilities are ultimately related be probability only. The definate truth of any knowledge sits firmly on the initial assumption of a certain possibility, a faith.

There is no 'actual' other than the mass-entertained possibility. Culture teaches people to think a certain way and thus entertain similar possibilities.

Some people have faith in certain religiously-defined truths. This means that they are entertaining truths in the absence of direct or confirmable empirical evidence. But ALL empirical evidence can be interpreted in multiple ways. At each step of the thought process in life, human beings have faith in certain propositions. Which thoughts they entertain, and which 'realities' they experience depend on their faiths. Even the atheist has faith - they have faith in fact of all empirical senses that they use. They simply have LESS faith than many people that follow religions, who are following dictated paths of entertaining possibilities.

It must be remembered that when a human entertains a possibility, it can be an emotional experience. Similarly, emotions can effect which possibilities are entertained.

It must also, crucually, be remembered that the human mind never really entertains all possibilities. possibilities are always infinite! This is one important way that culture, upbringing, society affects the realities of people, and the possibilities they entertain. Culture exposes people to certain empirical samples, which cull the possibility pool by introducing new contradictions. However the extent of the possibility pool is still mysterious. all that is known is that it shrinks when assuming faiths.

I'm Shitting You Not!

So, it still entertains some possibilities--are you saying that those possibilities are false? :undecided:

It's one thing to simply enjoy a style of life that one enjoys, but it's another thing altogether to refer to another person's choice as "wrong" or to rationalize their behavior as being pathological or resulting from some sort of inadequacy or failing so as to create a sense of superiority or separation as yet another projection of a personal fear or control issue.
