i have one of those big 30 gal rubbermade tubs and the sucker is as tuff as nails to cut. Does anyone have any hints/tips on the best way of making large cuts into rubbermade plastic? I trying to cut a "skylight" to provide some light into my fruiting chamber
thanks Dymentia

I used some heavy duty scissors. I think you could also do well with a hack saw blade. Power tools are always nice A utility knife works but it's slow.

How flexible is the material? Is there a danger of cracking? I've always used a utility knife, but that was on the 18 gallon roughneck totes. Make sure it has a sharp blade in it. I suppose you could soak it in hot water in the bath tub if you wanted.

I use a Dremel rotary tool for cutting plastic, fiberglass, etc. Works great!

sharp knife and adequate pressure should be good enuff. you can soften it up some by heatin it up with a hair-dryer it will make it a touch easier. i just use a leatherman and it works just have to cut over the same spot a few times then it goes thru.
