Wal*mart sell some stuff in the garden section called 50/50 mix. I don't know about your other questions though.

the 50/50 mix at Walmart is called jiffymix. Just take the sticks and stuff out.

Just bake the jiffy mix and some vermiculite seperate at 400 deg for 1 hour to steralize. Let cool. Add water till damp. put 3/4" damp vermic on bottom. break up cake into pea size chunks in middle and top with 1/2" damp jiffymix.
