Just a couple questions...
    #607419 - 04/13/02 04:31 PM (21 years, 7 months ago)

Ok, lets see.....well, all of my jars are germinating at different rates. A couple are about ready to birth. Should I try to wait for the others to catch up? Or should I just birth them. I guess this would be a personnal preference huh? Also, whats the best way to get the perlite in the terrarium and wetting it without inhaling it?

Ok, this question has me worried.....I built my terrarium with a sort of plexi-glass. It is held together with Liquid Nails. You know huh when you rubber cement something and even long after it dries it still has that smell? Well the liguid nails has the same kind of effect and I was wondering if you think that this would sufficate my fungi friends when they are trapped in their with that smell. hmmmm.......

Thanks!

Make sure your terranium is 100% done and ready first. Meaning the humidity is ideal (95+) and the temperature (I like around 70-77 F) is good. Then birth the jars which are positively 100% colonized. I like to birth 2 days after I notice a jar is 100% done, some advise to wait a week or 2 before birthing just to be sure it is 100% but I dont find it necessar. I like to birth mine as fast as possible why wait you want shrooms dont you? Plus watching them grow is just god ...... breath taking and undescribable

With the rubber cement odor situation I dont see this as a problem as long as

A) the adhesive you use is dry not dripping or touching any cakes/casings
B) your terranium is clean meaning bacterial free and ideal for the fruiting process

well i tried to help good luck and hope ya grow some nice monsters

ltrs
