The original intent of religion
    #12189765 -

I often read people stating they know the original intent of a religion formed thousands of years ago. You were not there; did not have access to the culture or the mind or minds behind it.

Don't buy it in the least. :sorry:

Religions are formed around the Sages, if you understand the Sage by becoming the Sage, you understand religion.

The paradox is that the original intention (of the sage) is to free the sheeple

everything corrupted once man touch it

there is a very high likelihood that many religions had no sage at all:
the pattern to preside over others proliferates as perceived in pack animals.
just add speech and writing
then stir
shake shake shake

this recipe works for martinis as well, you can get drunk on power or religion.

medicine and science kind of fill the other side of the equation - the part about looking for answers, as opposed to controlling others.
just take away speech and writing
then stir
shake shake shake

speech and writing yield storytelling and theater as well as science and medicine without the need of religion.

This could well be the case. You'd think anyone who knew some history would keep their mouth shut. Or teach only a few in absolute secrecy.

Kind of a Don Juan sort of thingy.

Seals are tasty.
God made seals extra tasty for Orcas.
Therefore God exists!

Corollary: God is benevolent for He doth provide Tastiness that far exceeds our mortal, insignificant deserving worth
