What's the best and quickest way to thaw frozen shrimp?

I've got a big bag of frozen cooked and peeled shrimp that's been sitting in my freezer for weeks. Well tonight I have a hankering for some shrimp and cocktail sauce...

What's the best way to quickly defrost these things without making a mess and stinking up my kitchen?

I was thinking putting a bunch of them in the toaster oven at like 200F for 5-10 minutes...

Im tellin ya man..I eat shrimp allll the time. Pick em up every minute or so and squeeze em. Youll feel when theyre thawed all the way through

don't use hot water! it's fucking gross depending on how you're eating them. put them in a bowl and run under colder water. usually they're flash froze and thaw stupid fast.

After I made this thread I was like "holy fuck, why do I need to ask people on the internet when I can just put them in a pot of water under medium heat on the stove"?!?!?!

So that's what I did... and now I'm enjoying delicious shrimp and cocktail sauce.

Of course they aren't nearly as good as the fresh shit, but sometimes you have to make sacrifices...

I heated them on the stove, but the water never even got warm... The shrimps are still pretty cold, but they are completely thawed!!!

Bah.. Theyre still cold enough in the center that the heat on the outside will slowly thaw, while not actually heating up the shrimp. Its kinda like a yin and yang thing. The different temperatures meet in the middle.. creating an even temp, yet delicious shrimp.

Like I said, if you squeeze the shrimp every minute or so you will feel when it is thawed. The cold flesh in the center will quickly cool the outside as soon as you remove it from the water.

While the shrimp was a smashing success, I don't think drinking a ton of beer on top of it was a good idea...

Funny thing.. right after I made this thread I had the brilliant idea to slowly heat them over the stove...

It worked... 3 hours ago...

Let's just leave it at that.
