Yo what's the fastest way to thaw frozen chicken?
    #13367413 -

So I'm cooking for my girl tonight and I totally forgot to take the chicken breasts out of the freezer and put them in the fridge last night. I need to thaw me some motherfuckin chicken STAT! Needs to be thawed so I can put it in some marinade for a few hours before she gets here.

Right now I've got it in the sink with cold water running over it but I was wondering if you peoples had any better ideas? Defrost setting on the microwave perhaps? How's that shit work?

put em in your oven wrapped in foil on a low setting, checking/ flipping every minute for a few minutes.

if it works out, they'll defrost with out starting to cook.

My defrost works great for hamburger but when it comes to chicken i put it in a bowl and let water run over it. Just let the water spill into the sink and when you can break it up, do so and spread em apart.

Sometime I even use warm water when in a hurry.

put in a plastic bag and place in a big bowl of warm water.

when water gets cold empty and replace with more warm water.

alternatively, place bowl in sink and  leave the tap on with warm water running.

The sink and cool water method is the way I usually go.  Just make sure the running water isn't directly hitting the chicken or it'll get all frayed looking.  I keep away from any heat until its cook time.

Oh yeah forgot about the direct water thing... it does make the chicken funny looking.

Make lukewarm water run over it.  as long as the water isn't warm to the touch it'll help without hindering.
You can also put the half-frozen chicken into a plastic bag, put the marinade it, put the whole thing into a bowl that is running over with lukewarm water.
marinade and thaw in one step.

Put the chicken in a tupperware and run a slow stream of cool water through the tupperware (but not directly on the chicken) in the sink.  The convection action of the water will thaw the chicken much faster.  If you use lukewarm or warm water to thaw chicken, it will thaw the chicken very quickly on the outside and the middle will stay frpzem.  The thawed outside will get into the Danger Zone and can allow bacterial development.  Not food-safe.

by lukewarm I meant not hot or cold to the touch.
I've never had problems with that.

Have you?
