First time poster: How to thaw frozen shrooms?

Hi there, recently I picked up some shrooms (first time in a long time - like 8 years). Anyway, had some left over, and read on this site a good way to preserve it to put in a airtight container and put in freezer.
Did that.
Well I want to trip tomorrow night, and I can not find anything here about 'thawing'? I'm thinking of just pulling them out and letting them sit on the counter.
Is there a better way?

If you froze your mushrooms while they were not dried, you will not like the look of them when you thaw them: It will be a goop.

If you froze them fresh, then you must thaw them in a bowl covered with a piece of paper (so the goop won't ooze out)

If you froze them dried you can use them directly for preparation.

I just thought of this so I can't guarantee you that it will work, but assuming you have frozen fresh mushrooms, you could put them in a cup and pour boiling water on them, making them into mushroom tea, thus (hopefully) avoiding the 'goop' scenario.

On a related note, has anybody ever tried to make shroom flavored icecream?

If you decide to try any of the above, please keep a record of what you are doing, and let us know how it turned out. This could be genuinely new information.

Thanks folks...I should have mentioned they were dried. I pulled out of the freezer and they look fine.

There is one stem which has (and had the first time we dipped in the bag) some blue-ish green on white.

While I have not read directly the impact if mold, I can imagine it could be lethal.

However, I read here it could also be just bruising.

I dipped a q-tip in water and rubbed the area and nothing came off (something else I read hear). I'll probably just put that stem aside.

no that color is the oxidation of psilocin in the mushroom. Its not harmfull.
