Being for or against gay weddings does not make one "pro- or anti-homo." I know a gay guy who, for whatever reason, is against same sex marriages.

true I know them myself. Nevertheless Belgium is thinking about legalizing gay weddings and I wanted to know your point of view thats how you have to see this poll.

Gay marriage is a liberal idea for straight people and a conservative idea among gay people. Many gay people who are against gay marriage see it as something of the straight world that's not for them.

Some gay people see it that way. Some don't.
Either way, it's an issue of basic rights. Marriage doesn't only give you a certificate, you also get certain changes in your taxes, among other things. Why shouldn't gay couples be entitled to these? Why shouldn't they have the right to do it just for the certificate, if that's what they want?

I couldn't escape from noticing that whenever wherever I use the word "homo" it gets deleted by a Rono fellah. Why? Its a normal word for crying out loud.

he doesn't always delete posts when people use the word "HOMO", I use it when i don't feel like typing "homosexual", either way the word homo is no worse then the word liberal.

Voodou...I deleted your post because the poll did not work...not because of the use of the word "homo"...and for the record, it was only one post...not "every time"...hope this clarifies things.

I also warned you about posting PM's...that is a big no-no here.  Consider yourself warned...

(p.s. I quit smoking so I'm a little on edge these days...I wouldn't suggest forcing the issue :wink:)

"Homo" has kind of become a slur, and the impression it gives is that you're a bigot.

I don't think you shouldn't be allowed to use it, but you should be aware of the connotation.

You'll soon discover many who post in this forum are P.C., and as such don't like several words.

Words such as homo or towel head and the like will have you branded as a homophobe or a racist whether you are or not.

To answer your question, I would like to see same sex marriages be legal. There is no reason why they should be not allowed.

Gay people should have every right that a straight person has....I dont understand why people do not see this!! It seems extremely sad to me that it has not been legalized. Very strange.... IMO.

I have met and got to know several gay good gay guys who have boyfriends and stay true to the relationship but EVERY gay guy Ive met has had LOTS and LOTS of unprotected sex in shady places with MANY people...

If you don't want to degrade them, then why do you use slurs which are widely considered degrading?

I'm not saying that people who use slurs are, in fact, bigots, but you'd have to have some kind of brain damage to be unable to realize that this is how people are going to interpret it.

If you only referred to black people as 'niggers' or to gays as 'faggots', it probably wouldn't be too much of a stretch to think you didn't think to much of them.
