Is there a reason almost no one sells psilcybe cyanescens spores? Anyone know a trustworthy place to get them?

its because they're not very easy to cultivate indoors. are you trying to make an outdoor bed?

im working on making an outdoor bed myself consisting of cyanescens and cyanofriscosa. hopefully it all works out. i have a nice large rhodie surrounded by alder wood chips but have yet to have any pop up. my neighbor has them growing like wild so i made some spores and i'll see if they fruit next season. cross my fingers

these are some of the cyanofriscosas i found. i left tons at the original site so they will keep on growing for more seasons.

Very Nice. I got a few rhoddies I plan on using too, but I hate them as plants. What else do the like? anything with similar leave patterns?

i found the cyanofriscosa growing under some type of clovers near the rhodie but im not sure what kind.. the cyanescens love rhodie leaves and woodchips. i have a lot of landscaping plans :grin:

Basically all they need is hard wood chips (they work best!).

But it's always a good idea to cover the patch with a little soil and some leaves, that store water and provide nutrients.

Cultivating wood loving mushrooms inside is indeed extremely difficult, cause you'd need either a room with temps between 40 to 60 degrees, or a fridge with a see through door, that provides enough FAE.

When it comes to outdoor beds, it's rather easy thing to do.

I just write down a tutorial of an easy way to do it and post in here in a little while.

I was wondering why it would be difficult to cultivate them indoors. After all, cultivation indoors is inherently more controlled than outdoor, which makes it easier for them to do well in their perfect conditions. I guess the hard part is just getting the conditions to be perfect. :tongue:

So Cyanescens require low temps of 40 to 60 to fruit? Eeeeeentresting. :grin:

last fall i gathered cyanescens and the bark with mycelium.I'm planning to grow out the mycelium inside and in the spring putting it out side.everything inside is doing killer.used cardboard to start50% of it.but just added alder chips to the rest of it!!!!!!!!!!ready for this spring!!!!!!!!:cool::thumbup::thumbup:living in washington

Yes, the hard part is to provide the required conditions. However, patches need years to fully establish, which means, that the results of an outdoor bed, increase over the years, if you add enough wood chips, each spring. This doesn't mean it keeps getting bigger, but that it says at the same level as it did in year two or three of it's initiation!

Anyway, few people get them to fruit at all, when it comes to indoor grows and no one has ever reached the level of an outdoor bed in terms of outcome, as far as I know.

Most likely because you -in a regular household- won't be able to simulate all the different conditions of nature.

If you want to see many fruits, do it outside! Definitely!

The scientist in me wants to take this as a challenge, but I won't... for now. :wink: I'm still researching and planning, trying to decide which strain I want to grow. Stronger is better in my opinion, as the cubes I've had were rather weak, on multiple occasions. The conundrum continues..

Guess you're talking about the species, not the strain.
A strain is a phenotype of species.
All different Cube strains are phenotypes of the same species Psilocybe cubensis.

A Psilocybe cyanescens and a Psilocybe azurescens are two different species within the same genus: Psilocybe.

Then you should go for Psilocybe azurescens. It's the strongest you can find.

The trip is intense, but plenty of people suffer from muscle contraction from this species. Happened to me as well.

Concerning the trip of wood loving species, I'd rather go for Psilocybe cyanescens. It's more gentle while still being extremely intense.

That's definitely the easiest way to do it.

Though he hasn't enough posts to enter the marketplace and the cultivating forum is not really the way to go for trade requests.

I have plenty of Psilocybe cyanescens prints to trade, but I'm in for so many trades right now, that it's hard for me to cover the shipping costs the whole time.

It's 3$ for every letter I send over seas...

Damn i missed like 3 post while I was typing... Well, if you get any freed up I'd gladly cover shipping and trade for something. I don't really got much right now though. I got a Pan Cam I could swap, or I got some PF Albinos growing now, I could send up a print of those. Probably all stuff you have...
