Biblical scholars 'splain :"Sowing wild oats"

Why does the Bible refer to "Sowing wild oats" (or is it sewing?) As a bad thing that someone would do for fun, but not enjoy harvesting?

If you ever woke up next to a coyote ugly closing time honey you would understand completely! :grin:It's just saying that one shouldn't dink around unless ready for the consequences :wink: So you have some "fun" with a bar slut, do you want to marry her and have kids(or have her have your kid :blush:)?The metaphor is actually describing that when wild oats are sown they sprout out of sight and cannot be harvested.So it goes if you sleep around you may end up with a lil oatling you don't know about.Other than that read the Song of Soloman for another view on sex and relationships :wink:WR

Mary was supposedly housed in the Temple where IMO much hash was burned as incense possibly clouding her recollection of her impregnation,additionaly many refences to angels and "other" beings of greater than human ability(the race of giants,the ananaki,and the story of how some unknown race found "the daughters of men fair")and the adamant nature of the story of "virgin" birth......could artificial means been used?Many questions no doubt,however historical persistance should warrant further study,again IMHO  :wink: WR
