I never really thought we had a rivalry w/ Canada. Whenever I visited Ontario, they were all very friendly to me and my friends and family.

plus, they have special (really strong) Molson beers. Molson Wildcat knocked me on my ass.

also, their fast food restaurants are the same, but instead of an apostrophe in the Wendy's marquee, its a maple leaf? :lol:

I am sure they get most of the same television, movies, and the two countries share a similar culture, imo.

doesnt a strong majority of the Canadian population live w/in 100 miles of the US border?

That said. I dont think I could name the Prime Minister, or any Prime Minister of Canada.

oh, and the Red Green Show is pretty funny.

yes the usa is the most hated country in the world and for good reason with their dog eat dog attitude and obvious other reasons

although britain has a spiritual connection with the usa aswwell as canada stated in a previous post

i believe theres many good american people out there who have similar opinions to mine but far too many arsehole right wing pricks, and you colonized a most magnificent land-maybe some of my ancestors went their and their spirit in their childrens, childrens, children live on in america today. :smile:
and i must thank america (mainly new york and california)for exporting some fantastic culture in arts and music :smile:

Its true that America is now most definitely a part of the commonwealth, but its also become an illegitimate government. It severely oversteps its founding documents and has morphed into something entirely different from its original form.

I'd like to clarify, I like living in Canada better then living in about 90% of the united states as they are now. If ANY part of America would secede and go back to a constitutionally based government I would move there as soon as I could.

The reason I have problems with Canada are more formal, we are still very much under the queen of England even if it doesn't seem like it. The crown representative known as the Governor General IS our head of state, then the Prime Minister. The Governor General can and HAS shut down our parliament. Anyone remember Stephen Harper shutting down parliament recently when the opposing parties formed a coalition? He asked the Governor General to do it.

I think that if you believe in equality, then you really should be opposed to the idea of a crowned person ordained by God to rule over you.

Canada - Every 3rd person you see isn't about to have a fucking heart attack in need of a coronary artery bypass with a cross around their neck. People vote for political parties based on their ideas/policies, and not weather they are a "devoted republican" or not. Irresponsible/bullied/frusterated kids have a harder time killing more than 2 classmates at once. If you get a disease that requires treatment, your life isn't practically over if you don't make over 200k a year. If you're caught selling drugs of just about any type, you're probably not going to jail unless you can't get a lawyer or were supplying a whole city, or violence was involved, etc. RATIONALITY.

America - The opposite. Just a big land full of fat dipshits. Used to have good college wrestlers.

I've heard it said that the more similar two cultures are, the more emphasis will be put on to the remaining differences.

Canada and the US are two fairly similar societies, relative to the rest of the world- so we spend our time focusing on what makes us distinctly 'Canadian' and 'American' instead of the many similarities.



My biggest gripe with the States is how you hijacked the name 'American'. I live in North America, I want to call myself an American without people thinking I live in the USA!!
Think how pissed off all of Europe would be if one country decided to use the term 'European' to describe its citizens only!!

The US was the first independent country in the Americas, so in the beginning any "americans" were citizens of the US. It's just tradition at this point.

You're free to feel all butthurtz about it if you want, but it seems like a pretty silly thing to gripe about to me. It's like if people in the US bitched about Mexico claiming tortillas to be traditionally Mexican. I mean, they sure as hell made them here too, but it'd be ridiculous to whine about something that's ultimately just a matter of tradition.

P.S. I want in on the maple syrup monopoly.

will say a few things
there are some jackasses here that talk shit for the sake of causing social friction. I'm not going to point fingers.
George Washington, and the brotherhood formed a solid base of principles that created the acceleration of social quality for americans.  This was up until early 20th century when the Federal Reserve took over.  The day that happened, USA died.  Ever since, USA has been in debt, and run by criminals, criminals Commander Washington would've castrated had he been alive.  All of these criminals/posers used the social acceleration and momentum provided by the Commander's spark and used it to create fake wealth, currency without value, and creating a nation of the ultra capitalist egomaniacs.
Let's not forget, a big number of Nazi supporters were American, thus further supporting what the elite class of the American consists of, Skull&Boners.

Canadians are as guilty of this mess, but at least there's a healthcare plan, and the best healthcare weed money can buy or grow.

A great number of Canadians like Cannabis, and that says allot about the mentality of the average person.  Open minded individuals willing to put ego and selfishness aside and pass a joint cannot be all that bad.  Also we don't like hunters much, other than the beards that live in wooden lodges and need to wrestle bears for salmon scraps, then it's alright.

Canada is populated by a good number of descent people, and the crazy people are not as crazy as some found in the states.

So i can go on forever, there's better shit about Canadians than Americans when generalized to overall so bottom line, Americans start arguments that cause tension, and that causes a chain reaction of stupid shit, like this.
