On Reverse Psychology

When we impose the opposite of what we desire to provide incentive for change and support the appearance that change came about thru our own free-will, then doesn't that tactic expose us to a just return?

Wouldn't the responsibly-inclined choose to avoid that jeopardy unless the possibility of ensuing chaos wasn't unattractive?

IMO the responsibly-inclined may choose to avoid the jeopardy of imposing reverse-psychology, but others may not; so then it could be difficult to ascertain the true state of affairs when surrounded by seemingly chaotic distractions.
