Extracting psilocybin

I don't know if this is the right forum for this question, but...
I have heard of a way to extract the psilocybin from mushrooms by leaving them in alcohol then evaporating the alcohol leaving behind pure psilocybin residue. Could this be done with colonized rye grains?
Any info would be appreciated.

haha nice post yea this qestion is being asked alot lately. check out erowid.org showes methanol extraction which seems to be the best i think or just a water one make some tea.

When you do search for this info try searching on the advanced board and use "heet" for a key word....I just saw a post there a while back talking about using the fuel additive "heet" to remove the goodies. Please PM me with the link to that post as I thought I had saved it but couldn't find it in my saved threads......

you can do the everclear method, but it is no where near pure. I think using everclear or any other grain alcohol will only get you close to 60% pure if you are lucky. To get pure results you need to use 'methanol' then 'naphta', and you will still only be around 90%. I do not condone doing this, and if you do make sure that you use chemicals that will fully evaporate off and not leave a residue. The dosage for a final product is around the size of a match-head, this is what I've read.
