I have Apple-Cherry juice and it says it provides 200% daily value of vitamin C. Is this enough to do the trick? I also plan on leaving the cakes soaking for a 24 hour period. will there really be much of a differance (juice wise) with the given time frame?

Hey, if you are going to do it, i suggest putting a little bit of vinegar i would say 25ml to ever 300ml juice because it has acetic acid in it which is the chemical that extracts it, its just a thought. Also i didn't think the juice tasted that bad but what i did to get the verm out of it was i strained it with steel strainer then i used a panty-ho to get the rest of the fine verm out. I think any juice will work as long as you put vinager in it, you need acetic acid.

seriously, i would not do it with anything other than cranberry juice.... thats what you use man! it works! but as far as i know for putting it in apple juice you might as well be putting them in water... i mean sure apple juice stuff might work, but i know and so do many other people know that cranberry juice is ideal for getting the most amount of psilo out of the mycellium, the absorbic acid just aids it so the fact that your juice has 200% daily allowance or whatever really doesnt matter that much... i mean it could work i guess but it might not work as good, i mean damn just get some cranberry juice.

yea that works for sure too, but i would hate getting drunk and tripping... i dunno i like it to be more pure... a little ganja is ok of course...



damn nevermind i just reread it you can get it down to 1 cc per dose that is bad ass!!!!!!

Just a guess but..

I've always heard sugar reduces the actives, or at least the trip, that's why people don't add sugar to teas and whatnot. So any juice which has a heap of sugar in it (most juices!!) would be detrimental..
RR has said that plain old water should work fine to extract the actives in a cake as both actives are water soluble.

I think the vinegar idea is gold as it lowers the pH pretty well, much more so than citric acid. (If anyone knows why lowering the pH works better please tell me).

So how does this sound as a method..

Blend up the cake, some water and some vinegar and let sit for a while, then strain and drink?

I'm pretty sure you're meant to boil off the alcohol and be left with the actual crystals of the actives if you use 200 proof alcohol extraction.
