Wondering If This is Green Mold

Hi, I saw other peoples pictures of green mold but mine look different. Within 2 days of cultivation I noticed small white circles (about 1mm diameter)

The pic doesn't help (i really can't understand it), therefore you have to be more detailed.

Ok. Well I used the agar method that came with the kit I bought. 2 days after I added the spores I noticed a small white circle. It resembles a pimple sort of. Its whitesh grey in color and in one of my dishes there were multiple cirles.

From the pic, it looks like its fine, but if its dark gray, you may have a problem.

Im just concerned because the same thing has appeard in dishes that contain no spores aswell as ones that do. Im just wondering, since this is my first attemp at mushrooms, how long should it be before I start to see growth? Its currently day 5.

Did you say you hed white spots growing in un-innoculated agar?

Toss those quick before they contam the rest... although that might be too late.

And no offense but unless you have done lab work before starting with agar is not recommended, it can be quite a bitch. you should look at PF tek the first time. Or something equally simple.

It says to keep it as sterile as possible. I use latex gloves, a head covering, and a face mask all sprayed with Lysol. Everything is flamed and then cooled and then flamed again before use. The air is sprayed with Lysol until I almost pass out lol. The table is wiped with Lysol... pretty much if I use it it have been covered with Lysol

If you do the lysol dance you have more chances to succeed but working with agar is very, very sensitive. I advice you using a glove box, there are several people that build its own and it's very simple. Do a search and take a look at the faqs.

In one of my agar dishes I have a cottony white fungus forming where I placed my spores, but also a few cm away too. So far they all look the same and Im hoping that it is myc so that atleast 1 will have worked. I'll try to get a picture up asap but they are in plastic petri dishes and my digicamera sux.

Ok, at the location where I placed my spores there is a white growth that looks similar to cotton. Its fuzzy, and doesn't appear to have any "solid" spots. There is another growth present aswell. It is also white but it looks like a pimple (small, roud, has a dark dot in the centre) but it has strands growing outward from it.
