What is ridiculous about confining your replies to the SUBJECT OF THE DISCUSSION ONLY and leaving the people you're discussing with (who ARE NOT THE SUBJECT OF THE DISCUSSION) out of the reply. The people are not the subject. The subject is. Discuss only the subject.

Other forums have different rules. Here, we use philosophy-type rules and for good reason: because the subject is what we want to discuss here. We don't care about who presented the subject. We don't care that he's cynical or an asshole or wears an ugly tie. We just don't care about that. We care about the subject and only the subject. Nothing else. Just the subject, not the person presenting it.

Don't know how to make it any more clear than that. If you still don't get it, I suggest the Off Topic Discussion forum. Their rules may be more to your liking.

JasonVira, let's try something. I believe in giving people the benefit of any doubt when I can, so I'm going to assume you're really trying to grok this but are having trouble.

I'm going to suspend the rules for you temporarily so you can make the reply you believe you'll be banned for. Go ahead and post your reply and if it does break the rules, I'll try to explain exactly why it breaks the rule and why the rule makes sense in the context of your reply.

So go ahead. State your reply and let's see where this goes.

I can't understand the forum rules although they are completely simple and straightforward and they've been explained to me many times and I'm surely convinced that I'm a supremely logical person and the only one here at that.

To Diploid,

You must be able to see the analogical logic in what I had stated. You’re being like some moderator in a Christian forum who would state that I can address and comment on the sin, but I cannot address and comment on the sinner who committed the sin. How am I supposed to do that? Presented in this manner it should be rather easy to see just how illogical these rules are. Of course, to the Christian moderator they would seem perfectly logical.

Well, I found a way in my above post, to address such matters, and it seems I didn’t break any rules by doing it.  :grin:

I'm under the impression that Diploid interprets the rules as HE CHOOSES and the administration is afraid to lose him by causing friction about this matter since...they apparently are not paying him to moderate.

Here I am doing my best to moderate the forum and bending over backward trying to help you fit in and understand the rules and what do I get: accused of favoritism by an ungrateful jerk who can't understand simple rules written at second grade reading level..
