I think everyone hates me.

Seriously, for the past 4 months I have pretty much been a loner. No one ever calls me back or asks me to do anything. I have no friends any more. My boyfriend even ditches me regularly. I don't know whats wrong with me. I'm not mean or spiteful. I really am nice to everyone unless the disrespect me in some way. I'm just so sad and feel alone.

I never had this problem before. I commute to college so I have no friends there, and all my friends from high school just don't care anymore. I don't even know what to say about my boyfriend. He has no excuse.

This is why I spend all my free time here.

*Update* After having a totally shitty week, yesterday when I was at work one of my best friends from high school called me and wanted to go clubbing with me. So we went to this huge club right off a college campus.  She got some guy to buy me a few drinks because she had to drive home. It was so much fun! So now we are going to make it a weekly thing. Yay! :smile:

use this time to get to know yourself. thats what i'm doing. i feel like were in the same boat. i have the same problems...so i'm using this "alone" time to just do what I want. i'm reading a lot of books, studying alot of materials and getting to know myself. i wish you the best of luck

If you read my story in the pub, you would notice I am losing friends fast, have been since my best friend at 16 got his gf pregnant, since then it just seems like my friends all A. go to jail or B. Have children and that ends their social life.

I have no problem making friends, my problem is finding those I want to make friends with.

Do things that might bring you into contact with more people to increase your chances of finding some you get along with, I'm a bit of a loner, but I decided to just start doing things.  I went to the planetarium, bought a kayak and started kayaking, started making beer and cheese, and whilst doing these things I've actually managed to make some good friends.  Find something you couldn't really see yourself doing, and then go do it.

Get out there and meet new people.  Pick up some new hobbies and use your time to get good at them, and you'll meet people through the hobbies.  As you get older you just aren't guaranteed as much of a social life any more, but you can still have one if you work hard at it.

how far is your commute?  too far for it to make sense befriending classmates?  meeting new people is a bit of a catch 22.  it's easiest to meet new people, through people.  so you should try to make new friends... to.. make new friends.  i mean, you don't have to, but definitely helps.

if your friends and bf are lame, spend more time around campus.  get to know classmates.  hang out at a coffee shop and strike up a conversation with a stranger.  you're in college, you should not have trouble meeting new people.

It's only 20 minutes. It's a community college, so no one lives there. I have transferring next semester to a private nursing school which will help.

Sometimes i'm in the same situation (months at a time) where no one calls me back and the only way I go out with people is if I call them first.

If you think everyone hates you, you'll subconsciously organize all perceived signals to confirm that suspicion.  So definitely try to change the way you think, first and foremost.  Maybe try to make new friends, sometimes you gotta do that and it might suck, but it pays off.  I'm kind of in a similar situation to you.  I've got a few close friends but besides them I don't really have many.  I try to take advantage of this by doing more in my free time, practicing guitar, listening to/discovering music, reading, etc.  but I definitely wish I could be more social.  Hope things get better for you.  :sunny:

Funny story actually, after months and months of meeting people and brushing them into the "not my type" bin.  I meet this girl I actually am attracted to, has a great personality, but can't take a fuckin joke.  After like 2 months of getting to know each other she called me a woman because I have long hair, I responded by saying: "It's cool if you call me a woman, I know you're just putting me down to make yourself feel better because you're really just empty inside."

She took that one to heart.  She can dish shit out but can't take the heat herself.  Don't like my humor then fuck you basically, why waste my time.

Sad though because 95% of girls I meet I am in no form attracted to, and she actually was attractive to me.  Win some and lose some.

okay fine, some people have "social problems" - but "social problems" are only called problems because they are merely diversions from ordinary boring social behavior. Someone who doesn't play the social game right way, so to speak. In other words, those who do not behave and think exactly the same in this society are labeled  as "troubled" or "dysfunctional" . Well guess what, it's all a meaningless illusion and there are billions of people there for taking, willing to share the experience of life with you. Go out and find people, just make sure you are smart and safe about where you choose to go.

join a club, do some volunteer work, go to low-key concerts, just get out and mingle... loneliness is an illusion

It took tripping many times for me to see through the illusions of "you're better than me" and "Im destined to be alone".

Some people never had that illusion to begin with, and while they are lucky it is useless for me to envy them. I can just be thankful that it's gone.

I heard there is a fair amount that go to nelson ledges too, but I have yet to find someone.

Nah that's pretty much a large percentage of people.  It's always scary when you get to know somebody better and better and all of a sudden the mask drops off and you see the self centered assholes they really are.  That's when, as the supposedly non self centered asshole, you gotta just be cool and stand by them if they're your friend and say fuck you if they aren't.  I guess it's a fine line between the two possibilities.
