some people told me that the most you can get is flashbacks. others say you can get serious mental problems leaving you in a mental institute. i watched the history channel episode about lsd and i think they touched on it a little but i cant remember... oh well

here's where i get confused w/ these stories...
any acid dealer knows that acid is heat and moisture and light sensitive...so, why would a dealer have a sheet of acid against their skin that wasn't wrapped in foil or plastic or both?? or even in their pocket in the same way? if it were to rain on a sheet that was wrapped in plastic or foil.. the paper shouldn't even really get wet... maybe minimally from some water leaking in through an opening.. but not like soaked and pouring acid into your skin. and even if it did somehow get wet.. a lot would be held by the fabric of your clothing or just rinsed off of your body... it's not like every single hit is going to absorb through your skin, your skin is just not that absorbant.
i personally had a full vial break in my pocket when i used to run a lot of doses... i didn't trip at all... it leaked through my pocket, through my boxers and i was at a party sweating a lot.... i was already tripping, but didn't notice any increase in the trip.
i've also taken a full vial intentionally, orally... there was no multi-day tripping... it was a hard trip for a little over the normal amount of tripping time w/a day or so of 'uhh..i feel a little weird'...
--
granted... acid could have made the guy go crazy, but i also do not buy the old story of a sheet leaking through the skin... [edit] before i start catching shit.. no, i don't mean that the acid actually made him crazy.. i mean that it probably awoke some underlying paranoia/schizophrenia/dimensia that was already there.

i gotta agree with goobs here. every confirmed 'acid casuality' that i've heard of has been with people who had prior-existing mental issues, such as latent schizophrenia. the acid brings it to a head, but the problems existed (and were usually documented) beforehand.

I don't understand why it's surprising that it happened to a black guy...I know plenty of black guys who have taken LSD. And whites and blacks are equally open to the possibility of insanity.

Don't even get me started on "flashbacks"...I believe one experience with LSD can alter the nature of your consciousness permanently but neither myself nor any friends have ever had acid "kick in" all over again...I have experienced strange visual fluctuations after smoking marijuana in the same location where I had a strong trip...but I believe flashbacks are not a biological occurrence in the brain at all...it's all just the fact that your mindset has been forever altered and that, if you want, you can get in touch with that again.
But when I hear a story like, "yeah my dad did acid in the 70's and one time he was driving down the highway and all of a suddena lamppost turned into a brontosaurus and started chasing him cause he was having a flashback" I wanna roll mye yes so hard they'd break.
And yes...someone actually told me that once.

I don't think it's racism.
I don't think 99 percent of people, myself included, have a single fucking clue how to approach the topic of race,. We've been babied since birth on the subject, told to tiptoe around it, embrace some We Are the World bullshit attitude towards it. And as a result, no one knows how to approach the topic in a way that even approaches objectivity..

But that's NOT what this thread is about, so let's not derail it, k?!

ive also heard the same story, with a little variation and a different 'victim' from a friend and i straight up told him i didn't believe it, then he told me it was a buddy who told him, until you meet this guy first hand, dont believe everything you hear.

I don't believe it...I believe you heard it, but I don't trust your source.
I generally don't buy any of these "accidental" dosings when a person has a uncovered sheet close to their skin...if anyone is carrying such weight they should have more sense
