Steelers - Vikings

I'm nervous man IM NERVOUS.
People on Around the Horn are picking the Steelers to win but i have my doubts just based on a couple things.
1. This is the best offense we've ever seen in probably the last two years. And the matchups are kind of scarey. Getting the Favre is going to be hard with the offensive line they have. We lost Aaron Smith for the season, which hurts our run D tremendously. Thank goodness Polamalu is back and Timmons is rested.
2. Steelers defense collapses in the 4th quarter. Outscored in the 4th quarter in half the games this year.
3. Steelers offense dealing with Viking's pass rush is also another big concern. Jared Allen is a beast.
With that being said, i'm happy about this:
http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=4589674
If there's one matchup the steelers might have an advantage is on the pass. On top of that, Mendenhall is a player whose just starting to bud in this league.
NERVOUS MAN!!!!

I'm rooting for Pittsburgh, fuck Favre and Minnesota. Ben is a fucking machine. Sure, Vike's are 6-0, but again, this is a case of "look who they've played." They haven't faced a team as good as the Steelers yet.
According to stats the vike's have a better D, but again, "LWTP".
It's gonna be tough for both teams, but I still say Steelers by 10.
GO STEELERS!

Polamalu might make the differance so quit worrying so much, Its hard for any team to Beat Pittsburg at home The Vikings are so far ahead in their division that they do not need a win that badly. Wow out of all the games this week this is gonna be the best one Smoke a bowl of LS and quit worrying Ls

Most teams lately have geared towards shutting down the run game down against the Vikings, Thats why Favre`s passing game has been so good this year. The Vikings havent played anybody thats really good except for Green Bay this year and they have squeaked out victories in 2 of their wins in the 4th quarter.
Pittsburgs defense is probably going to be the best one they face all year long, they will contain AP but that lets Favre pick and chose who to throw to and he has a stable of very good recievers. I want the Vikings to win but i am an old die hard Oiler fan and the hatred for Pittsburg still runs deep in my sports soul
I predict a 31-28 win for your beloved Steelers Its gonna be a blood bath

I think it could be a blow out either way, I think the Steelers are a hella lot better than their win loss record. They can punk any team they play when they get serious That includes the Colts or the Saints
Big Ben shakes off blitzing linebackers easily and makes big plays better than Peyton or Brees. If they can pressure Favre and keep AP below 100 yrs rushing they will win. I will not bet no money on this game unless they change the odds to at least +7 for the Steelers

ur making me happy from complementing my team so much.
but i'd really be surprised if it was a blow out. I expect a game going down to the wire.

Big Ben better than Brees? That's not so easy a call, those two are in the top 4 QB's in the NFL, and the order of that list changes every week. Would the Steelers beat the Saints? THAT would be fucking tough for both teams, we'll just have to wait until the Super Bowl to decide that one

i'm not going to say one QB is better than the other because their situations and career paths have been so fucking different.
Brees started out with fixer-upper teams both in SD and Nawlin's.
Big Ben went into a team that was just coming off an AFC championship appearance and one of the best defenses in the past decade, and multiple pro bowlers both in his backfield and in his offensive line.
Ben won two super bowls, but lets be honest, he was born with a silver spoon.
Brees was a swashbuckler who had to reform and rebuild franchises.

All good points, I would never attempt to say one is better than the other, but they are both in the upper echelon of QB's for sure.

One of the most important plays Ben ever made was a tackle against the Colts in the AFC championship game. Saved the game for the Steelers. Could anyone named Drew ever make such a play?

Brees has been known to do some nice blocks. I've even seen him do a tackle to two, one notable one was just a few weeks ago against the Jets.

Fair enough. Do you remember that play Ben made? A last gasp shoestring tackle on a guy well in the clear. Biggest play of the game.

yeah it was like barely a trip off nick harper i believe.
i had about three heart attacks during that game.
It made the afc championship game in denver seem alot less significant honestly.

Ahhh that's right, it was before the Championship. Still, I think most people at the time thought that was the tougher test.

pittsburgh had a damn good team that year
the only reason they ended up the 6th seed going into the playoffs was because ben was injured early in the season and Maddox had dropped like 3 games.
i really wasn't worried about denver
