I know how to absorb the shock correctly from at least 10 feet up.

"Knowing" has nothing to do with conditioning. The proper traceurs don't drop more then 5-6ft for multiple years.

Unless you partcipated in an activity like gymnastics, rockclimbing and other similar sports, your body isn't conditioned to parkour, you got to take it easy.

5-6 feet for multiple years? WTF I could take that much without even rolling into a fall. And I've only practiced for about 2 weeks.

You really got to find an experienced traceur to guide you, because at the moment you're going to end up injured.

You shouldn't be doing ANY drops after 2 weeks, that's absolutely insane and counterproductive. You should be working on your general strength/conditioning and in terms of parkour skills, working on some low level vaults (lazy, kongs, turn vaults, dashes etc.) and a wallrunning to get you start. BEFORE you do any drops, you should be able to roll on the hardest concrete you can find, with no shirt, with ZERO discomfort.... even then, you shouldn't be dropping 10ft, at least without a solid year of conditioning (you should be squatting like crazy, dynamic squats and all types of shit).

Parkour is something you have to take very slow, I've spent a lot of time in the discipline and on daily basis I see newcomers go too hard/too fast and end up fucking their body.

3ft yeah.. but I've definitely worn sandals in the snow before.

OP: Tabi (ninja) boots are cool shit, but they are basically nothing. A piece of leather as the sole and cloth stitched to it, with some ankle support.
Ideal for being stealthy, not so much for urban olympics.

If you like tabi boots I posted links earlier in the thread to sites that sell tabi sneakers.

Are we talking about the same thing when we are referring to drops?

Anyways you sound like you know what your talking about and I guess I should take it allot slower. I have been trying to eat allot healthier lately and I started running recently. I've been pushing my car around to build up my legs (that was unintentional).

I've been working on my balance too. Like running along the edge of my unpadded trampoline as well as doing flips on and off of it and shit. I'm also unofficially practicing martial arts. Just kinda fucking around ya know what I mean?

Anyways I will try to slowly build up my skills before I jump (no pun intended) into anything to big. Thanks for the advice.

The only traceur I use to guide me is my higher self...or rather my stoned self.

It's much easier to use my body when I'm stoned because I'm more mentally and physically calm. Not to mention more creative and flexible in the way I move. Meditation and Yoga definatlly helps too.

Plus I have kundalini energy on my side. :strokebeard2::blueninja:
