That's not really true, unless your feel and ankles are already really weak from wearing shoes all the time.

I recommend them man, I've got a pair of KSO's and I fucking love them. I use them for sprints, hiking, excersising, parkour, drumming. Basically everything and anything that involves more intense bodily movements than walking. Just make sure they fit well (don't order online), and break them in by wearing them as much as you can for the first while. Blisters suck.

Damn those black kso's look fucking amazing.

I wanna test out my parkour skills with that shit.

I live in georgia and they don't look like they are around here and like you I don't wanna order anything online. Fuck.

nevermind I checked again and they are in georgia.

Out of all the fivefingers which would be the best specifically for parkour? they all look like they could get the job done though but which would be best?

they have no padding and no arch support at all. if you try running with these shoes you are going to develop shin splints and eventually collapse the arch of your foot.  they're awesome for climbing but street running and parkour is not their strong point.

if the OP wants a shoe with support and flexibility, i'd suggest some nike frees. the original frees actually used a similar design to the vibrams but switched to a more traditional shoe design after all of their foot injuries. the nike's were marketed strictly as a high performance running shoe.

No they wont, because I've never worn anything except shoes without padding or support for my whole life. I've never let them get weak.

that's a theory, and unless you've never worn anything but flip flops your entire life, that's pretty much impossible.

have you ever tried running in the vibrams, or barefoot, for more than a few steps?

From the description on the website I'd be willing to bet the KSO's would be the best for what your looking for.  The description on the site says best for: Running, Fitness Training, CrossFit, Light Trekking, Bouldering, Water Sports & Travel.  The KSO Treks look like they may be good too, more protection, more tread, but less flexability. I know almost nothing about parkour though, I'm just trying to use logic.  I just assume for an urban environment you'd want one of the more heavy duty versions due to the protection you'd get from a thicker sole.  If your scaling walls and such you never know what debris may lay on the other side.

If I land right I don't really use my feet or legs to absorb a blow from high up. It's all about tranfering energy. Fucking yoga and meditation help out a shitload when it comes to this stuff.

When my mind is calm my body is calm and vice versa.

Through meditation and psychedelics I have reduced my fear of death so I'm willing to take that leap of faith and just go for it.

Hey Poptart.

Make sure you train with an experienced traceur or you will end up in a world of pain, even if it's not a massive injury, stuff like shin splints can really ruin your life.

I've fallen out of the discipline, I was a part of the original group that started Parkour in Australia.

Just take it nice and slow, condition your joints and build your overall athletic ability, you shouldn't be taking impact from anything over really ~5ft for your 1st year or 2 (depending on how often you train).

I know how to absorb the shock correctly from at least 10 feet up.
My body is very loose from yoga and I have great body conciousness from meditation. I will be careful though.

"Knowing" has nothing to do with conditioning. The proper traceurs don't drop more then 5-6ft for multiple years.

Unless you partcipated in an activity like gymnastics, rockclimbing and other similar sports, your body isn't conditioned to parkour, you got to take it easy.

I can't decide on anything...

I'm thinking about the kso treks but I'm wondering how durable they are. Would it basically just feel like I'm barefoot with very little padding?

Just wear a comfortable shoe with support, your favourite running shoe is fine, your training and mindset is 100x more important.

I wear Asic Gels.

3ft yeah.. but I've definitely worn sandals in the snow before.

OP: Tabi (ninja) boots are cool shit, but they are basically nothing. A piece of leather as the sole and cloth stitched to it, with some ankle support.
Ideal for being stealthy, not so much for urban olympics.
