i could defend myself, but i try to avoid fighting if it's a option.
i don't like fighting, there is not positive resolve from it and it's not necessary.
but if the option is to run or kick his ass? i would kick his ass as a subliminal message.

I carry a weapon when walking in a sketchy area(either a switchblade, or my pepper spray gun)

Depends, I'm not too big for a guy, but I'll definitely stand my ground. In this situation I'd try to disable the guy by breaking his leg and probably his nose.

I have no idea if I could. I thought I knew how to fight until I challenged a friend who was a brown belt in kickboxing. Never been so embarassed in my life. I did manage to break his nose though! :rockon:

Unless he has a gun, he's dead. And if he has a gun and gets me close quarters, he is dead. But I cannot do shit to him if he is any further away from me than the length of my legs.
I've got almost 10 years of Martial Arts experience (Brown belt in Karate, Red in Kickboxing.) Had to quite formal training when I moved though, since a suitable trainer was impossible to find, they all sucked so much I was better than the instructors, I mean, this guy has a 5th dan Black Belt, and he is fat, FAT!?!?!?!? WTF!?

In any case, I have done so many kicks over the years that when I do one, if I hadn't initiated the kick myself, I wouldn't know it ever happened.

Oh, and just to add... Even though I CAN hit a person unconscious I have never came in a situation where I felt fighting would be necessary, (meaning I either fight or I die, no way around it, that way, I don't hold back. My biggest weakness is that I hold back to much, since I just want to end the problem, not cause new ones, but that ends up being the wrong choice, because then I only get people angry.
