Cyanescens in Vancouver

Found some cyanescens in the burnaby area. There was quite a few pins and plan on trying to take some pictures when I return later this week.



Apologies for the low quality blurry close-up shots. My camera doesn't do excellent for macros.

I would assume you noticed that one of the mushrooms in that group shot is not a psilocybe...

Yes! This gives me hope! Its one thing to hear about all these Washington/Oregon people finding cyans, but when I hear they're showing up in my own metaphorical backyard....YES! and I would assume that non-psilocybe is the mycena-looking one at the bottom?:tongue:

Yea, a few were not cyans, they've been removed from the pile. Posted before really sorting through the find.

Was really happy to find some cyans though. kept hearing about them growing in the vancouver area, but havn't found any until now.

you know what man, it took me about 4 - 5 years before i found any cyans and it was my lifes goal.I picked field shrooms til the cows came home.then they ended up growing along a trail next to my highschool i gradded from like 5 minutes from my house!so that was really cool. plus there was stuntziis growing in all the mulch right there in plane view next to the doors and classes!
The other time i found them was in my friends back yard under some invasive bamboo.lots of them along side with P aeruginosas.

0a, they are close to you. I am farther from Van then you are.

SUPER stoked on your findings!!!!!! iv been pickin these guys since i was 15, and ALL of my local spots have been turned upside down and built on top of. so sad! rrecently i have located them in Sxxxxxx pk however... I know a master of his trade never tells his secrets but if you were willing to share a little advice it would make a fellow hunter happy.
