please help me, i have pics up now

so... my bf is having some legal trouble and is temporarily detained.... and I am at home with a full fruiting chamber, about 10 casings in the dark stage (like before they go in the chamber?) and only have a vague idea of what to do

1st, i picked some of the casing and then patched them... i know that much but there are still ones growing on it.... so am i supposed to spray it down with water or something? or is that only when nothings left...?

also there was some greyish stuff that i think was mold on the casings.... but could it be spores that dropped? how can i tell and what do i do if it is mold?

and as for the in-the-dark casings... how do i know when to put them into the chamber? can't i contaminate them if i open them up just to look?

please any help is greatly appreciated... don't make fun of me, this isn't my thing, just trying not to totally screw everything up


(EDIT) ok, am i supposed to moisten the casing material before patching?

also, I'm going to try to upload some pics now.... one is of a casing i think is ready to go in the fruiting chamber...



the other is of the grey stuff, i couldn't get a good pic of it on the ground layer... but i got a pic of the grey stuff on the top of some pins

You can wait for the rest of the mushrooms to grow up, then pick everything. Then you can dunk the casing. If your not comfortable with that mist the shit out of it, find some vermiculite, moisten it up, microwave it and wait for it to cool. When it is cover the casing lightly with it.

I cant tell you weather or not the casing is contamed without a picture.

You know when the casing is ready to put in the fruiting chamber when the whole top of the casing is lightly covered with white mycelium. You wont contam it by just peaking. Im sure he has lysol lying around. Spray the room.

First. What kind of legal trouble? Is it the type that police might end up at the residence? Are you in a place where growing is illegal?

If so protect yourself and him by shutting it down.

Second. Pics might help with getting advice. Grey is usually contamination.

pick all of them. then dunk underwater for 24hrs. completely submerge it by putting something with some weight on top

......i doubt its mold. make sure its not a grayish blueish. but if you see green its mold. thats the only color mold i have ever gotten on a cake/casing and that was after the 5th flush.

yeah your fine. just turn any fans off or ac or anything. then open it up. if its all white take of the cover and put it into the fruiting chamber. Mist twice a day. fan 3-6 times a day for about a minute or so, and give them light 12on/12off

there not cased so why are you caling them a caseing?  this is when you put them in then 2 weeks later

they look ready to go in
that 2nd pic of the upclose shows some shrooms that lookin not so good on the cap
and it also looks like it has cobweb on it in the 2nd pic as well
looks like you have a good amount of mushrooms starting to grow but you may want to give it a good mist with some h202
im really not feeling well so i cant remember what the regular name for h202 is....
some 1 else post it plz.

might as well give them both a mist with some peroxide, its not gonna hurt em
i dont see anything wrong with the first one
i think the 2nd looks more like cobweb and some of the caps look like they are rotting(the ones that are greenish and blue on the caps)
