yes just pack kind of tight with pollyfill  1/4in holes.

in RR's vid one of his suggestions when inoculating quart jars is to use large holes filled with polyfill :smile:

maybe tyvek on both sides of disk. innoc thru alcohol swab and tape outer hole.

maybe strips of micropore tape on bottom polyfill in mid and then micropore on top?

Haha, yeah man sorry to break it to you but that hole is WAY too big.

1/4" like everyone else says.

You will definitely have problems with whatever you use drying out.

I bet a great big ball of polyfill would work fine. Tape it and you won't be able to shake it. Grains would just bounce off the polyfill without soaking it through. Polyfill is pretty good at keep the water in.

I would tape over the hole with some duct tape on both sides, put a layer of tyvek on the bottom then place the lid on. then O ring. Inject thru duct tape and just put some micro tape over the hole you made with the needle.
