but there a better cheaper thing then the filter disc. Drill a hole about 3/8 inch in the center of the lid, get some poly fill from kmart or wally world. Its in the fabric section, its pillow stuffing. Now get some needle knows pliers and pull a wad of the poly fill through the hole. so its real tight. NOw p cook the jars with the lids on tight and covered with aluminium foil, make sure the seal side is down on the lids so it DOES seal. Now once there cool push the syring through the side of the poly fill and the metal lid. I have not had one contam using this tek. You can read more about it at
