Rye Grain Too Dry in Quart Jars
    #347343 - 06/23/01 11:27 AM (23 years, 3 months ago)

I sterilized rye berries in quart jars. How do I tell if they are too dry? Mine look a little dry. There is some condensation on the sides of the jars... but not much. Im using filter discs in place of the metal lids. How would I go about raising humidity in my jars?

How much grain and how much water did you use?
I use 100g rye and 110 g water.

As you see, too little water. At least 1 to 1 is required.

Thanks for your reply. I guess I will have to innoculate more jars. Oh well...
