In answer to the initial question. The reason is that they do not want to give in to Barbarous threats of a country ruled by Islamic extremists that do not even respect the individual rights of its own citizens. Israel is the only bastion of Western civilisation in the whole of the desert rathole of a place. If anything Israel should crush Palestine and take it for its own.

On the point in question, consider this truth. If you give savage thugs an inch, they will take a mile and your life.

Us money to israel to the tune of 114 billion. Us aid to palestine. I dont think theyll ever quit as long as we fund both sides of the conflict.

this was a giant mistake. not so much in its idea but how it was implemented.

i dont think either side are bad people, just their leaders. their leaders are unreasonable and wont budge and ariel sharon was one of the worst things to happen to that area.

yassir arafat got a lot of shit but he wasnt any worse or better than that assclown sharon.

I agree either the US should back the 'right' horse, or get out of that situation altogether. Mixed signals does nothing but prolong the conflict.

No it wasnt, Palestine is a very new country (as is Israel).  And the United Nations didnt create Israel, they just approved of it (The United Nations doesnt have the power or ability to create any country or state).  The Jews created Israel by fighting a war of independence against their five neighbors.

That's completely objective. Yeah, Israelis shed blood for their country in order to sustain its essence, as do many other countrymen. Subjectively, Israel would be almost nothing without global approval of its existence; thanks to the UN.
