Or i dunno if it's the house he grew up in. As a kid then went and got famius. And got out of here. Maybe he came back and did it there. I dunno if that's the house he committed suicide in though.

I guess Nirvana is somewhat overrated, but I like some of their stuff and I find a lot of the other music from that time period that gets lumped in as being the same genre to be unlistenably bad (e.g. Pearl Jam.)

I don't think Nirvana is overrated - they just really weren't that technical and Kurt didn't really have the traditional vocal range but they produced amazing music for what they were working with.
But then again... I like early Pearl Jam

I never paid much attention to Nirvana when they were doing their thing. I remember the days long thing MTV had covering his death though. Suicide hotline numbers and stuff.
Years later I was spending a lot of time reading musician autobiographies, and came across a biography on Nirvana, and "kurts notebooks". So I bought the Unplugged CD..
I have to say, a lot of the lyrics hit. A lot were mopey and depressing too though. Really unique tho, it has a distinct feel to it.
At the end of the day I think he just needed to get away, he seemed pretty fragile all around. I dont think he really had that, fuck you fight the world mentality. He seemed pretty sensitive too it all.
Either way, what's done is done. I like a good number of their songs, but remember when they released the song "You Know You're Right".. apparently recorded a few days before he killed himself.. that's probably my 'one Nirvana song'..

There were some rumors that Kurt detested Grohl near the end and wanted to get rid of him (for personal reasons), but tolerated him because he was such a good drummer.
Then again, according to some of the stuff you read, Kurt supposedly detested anybody and everybody near the end.

I'm pretty sure severe junkies resent most people.
He just really didn't seem like a very happy fellow from the get go. A product of a broken home and addiction.

That's what I'm saying.. only going by what I've seen it looked like Kurt wasn't the type to reach old age..

Sounds like aberdeen to me.
It has a cool history though. A lot of houses around here are essentially studios. It was a boom town surrounding the logging industry. But it dried up as the machinery they used were used for big trees. And new laws that Washington put up basically made all of that shit useless. The factories are still around town but I've never seen them running. Just sitting there.
The mall is 75% unvacant it's kind of cool to walk in. It's so quiet. Basically has the sears and the movie theatre. Downtown has so many open stores for rent its basically a ghost town.
Theres really not much to do. Walmart moved in and we have all the fast food places. But like 5 actual restaurants. I have 8 years of restaurant experience but i work in a crab processing plant in Washington.
Drugs moved in as the people weren't snapping necks and cashin checks anymore. And when the young people who were growing up there's not much else to do might as well get high.
It was the same in alaska. Boredome especially during winter. might as well do drugs.
It's actually a really cool little town the scenery is gorgeous. Your 20 miles from the ocean. But it just died. I mushroom pick and do all sorts of fun things. Camp, swim, fish. And this summer has just been spectacular.

And he was actually planning on quitting and expressed interest in doing acoustic stuff. There releasing a posthumous album of his old acoustic unreleased stuff.
I'd say Alice in Chains acoustic/slower stuff is way better than any of their grungey stuff too . Jar of Flies for example >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Dirt.
Their self titled album from 95-96 is BOMB. their best heavy shit for sure

Buzz Osborne from the Melvin's was good friends with Cobain and he said that montage of heck is a bs representation.
Cobain made up most of the lyrics on the spot and frequently said they didn't have too much meaning.
Towards the end Cobain didn't like grohls drumming and probably resented him for not being an addict. Cobain said he preferred the previous drummer's style. I can see why. Chad Channing especially shines on the song Negative Creep on the Bleach album.
