If you have to plug in the device, what's the difference?

unless of course the device can power multiple unit's at the same time...then that make sense.

This is not a production product. This is proof that the technology is viable.
Did you even watch the video? Think about what the man said. A large device like this installed in the floor or ceiling of your house could provide totally wireless electricity for TVs, computers, cell phones, vacuums, you name it. Yes, that device would itself have to be getting its power from somewhere, so this is not an immediate replacement for long-distance cables, but you've got a pretty severe imagination deficit if you think that his plug-in demo version is the height of this technology's potential.

Maybe not in your living room, but in a special room which then stores the energy and distributes it in a safer manner? I don't know.
