I'm sick and tired of the rain...it's still drizzling, and from the looks of the radar it will be doing this all weekend and on into next week...If it would give us 2 or 3 days in between for things to dry up so I could walk around without getting soaked and muddy I would much appreciate it!

On the upside, maybe the ground will be soaked enough for some patches to put out for awhile if the rain doesn't come back soon...:rolleyes:

This includes complaining about the weather, asking if the current weather is "good for shrooms", or how long to wait after rain fall to go hunting.
As a general rule of thumb, if it has rained within the last 1-10 days, and the temperatures are correct for the type of mushroom you're looking for, and the time of year is correct then it is very likely that the mushroom you are looking for is growing.

This thread is perfectly acceptable in the pub so that is where I will put it!

I've looked all over the area that i'm in, but can't seem to find anything anywhere...plenty of rain and the other conditions are right...

O, sorry bout the misplaced thread alan.

But ya, I broke down and decided to get wet and look while it was still raining. Apparently somone has raped both my spots cuz I've been looking like every day for the past week and have only found a couple. So either other people know about it and are beating me to them or somone went down there and pillaged it to were they won't grow anymore.... :shakefist:

You should make signs to put around your spots that say "Psilocybe weilii does not grow here."

Also toss a bunch of sawdust and wood chips around.

Lol I was thinkin about just puttin a sign up that says "Tresspassors will be shot, survivors will be shot again." That's how I'm feeling at the moment

Would the sawdust idea actually do any good? It's a little flood plain area with fescue grass and pine trees all around it. A few sweet gums too

I'm bout at that point too. I'm findin them but no good clusters. Went to like 4 spots today and only found like 10 caps.

Are you guys ordering "Know Your Mushrooms"? I placed an order when it said ships Sept. 25th. Now on amazon it says it ships in december, and now it doesn't say it when it ships on the above link.  :drunk:
