Frank Zappa was a staunch opponent of idiocy in all forms.  That includes douchebags who won't work, incompetent douchebags who think they are owed work and generally smelly hippy morons.  For his take on unions you might want to listen to Flakes from Sheik Yerbouti.  If you think Frank was a liberal then you do not know Frank.  Did you know he would not tolerate drug use in his band?

Also, the crazy fuck could play guitar like nobody's business.

Naw, it was just the very anti-Christian Right theme of "Broadway the Hardway" (especially "Lies so Big") and his Atheism which lead me to think he was liberal.

I knew he didnt tolerate drug use in his band while on the road.
I know he also liked to poke fun at the psychedelic movement.

Did you know that while he didnt tolerate drug use from his band or use drugs himself he still supported legalization?

He was a libertarian.  Which I consider to be the second strongest expression of conservatism.  Anarchism is the strongest but it's stupid.  I don't want to own slaves.

I agree with Frank almost top to bottom and consider myself and him to be strong conservatives.  The Republican Party is NOT conservative.

Frank had a sane drug policy.  Do what you want but not on my dime.  When I'm paying you dance to my tune or you fuck off.

Anarchy only looks good on paper.
Im far more conservative than liberal.

A minimal government should exist to take care of logistics, etc; but they should take no part in running our lives.

Don't hate me because I'm a Republican.  I got my card in the mail because I maintain a paid subscription to National Review magazine.  William F. Buckley, Jr. (R.I.P.) had very convincing arguments for the legalization of marijuana.  And very convincing arguments in favor of the Republican Party.  Even though it's not perfect.  I guess I'm conservative enough to expect the government to be less than perfect.  I mean waaaaay less. 

I'm totally against Socialism, so I have to be a Republican.

i was a libertarian in college. now i vote republican when i can. no republicans have run in my city council district for decades. a Democrat father and his liberal son have controlled my Congressional district the last 46 consecutive years....many years they run unopposed.....
