What do you think? There's way more of us then there is of them.

Then there would spontaneously arise a system of government among the people who took over. History has shown this trend repeatedly.

the government is a hungry monster, so the only true way to overtake government is to stop feeding it and walk away. insurrection via non-participation rejects the legitimacy of the state.

people just need to walk away from using government institutions and being involved in them in any way

i have studied anarchy and i am convinced the only way people can overcome government is through enlightenment and education. wild animals/men cannot live without authority. everybody is going to have to become like a intellectual or a guru before sustainable anarchy is possible, when everyone can be their own authority over themselves

A. there's no one demographic with close to the size or power to accomplish this.

B. it would just make things worse.

I suggest a Constitutional Congress if that's what you want.

Life is a joke in and of itself.

Existence is a joke.

Anyone else here fail to see the punchline though? :kingcrankey:

Personally, I don't think anyone or any group of government is in control. This beast we are all pulsating within is way too big and complicated to be controlled. Even the most intense of psychedelic experiences should show us that we are not in control.

i think it would be amazing to have a bunch of enlightened anarchists claim a nation-state somewhere and just have a big commune where they worked on cutting edge exploration into drugs and arts and human emotion and experience. it would probably attract people like timothy leary's big estates or far east gurus, etc.

Personal control isn't necessary or possible in government.  That's what delegation of powers is for.

if i'm not mistaken, the US has had the longest standing government without having gone through a reform/upheaval.  to me that says it's time for change.  it was made originally with good intentions and a high potential for change and adaptation to modern times, but i would insist that it has developed in ways that our forefathers would not have approved of.

the modern government takes power away from the many and gives it to the few (especially executives of large companies).  in the 1800s, most americans had lots of privacy and freedom (for example, could smoke weed if they wanted to, weren't bothered by police, weren't being watched all the time).  in the 1800's, most americans were self-employed.  now, virtually no one is self employed and we live in a country where basic liberties such as privacy and drug use do not exist.

the gov't should not be a "parental" figure.  that is, telling us what is OK and not OK to put in our bodies.  telling us what experiences are OK and not OK to have.

unfortunately, a large portion of the citizens of the US eat that parental shit up.  the propaganda is too strong.  individuals have very little power in modern times to do anything about it.

the argument that there's more of us than there are of them is not really very accurate.  there are PLENTY of people that would resist any change or threat to our current government system with lethal force.

Theoretically, we are the government.  The only thing that prevents that from being true in practice is all the corporate influence.  So if we really want progress, we have to overtake the corporations.
