illadelph detachable base with a coil charger ,that cools the smoke to 32 degrees .... so beaker for me

I prefer a bottom chamber of some kind because more volume means more space for the smoke to cool in.

they work by heating the glass with an outside heat source till they are extremely hot ( due to the fact that glass absorbs heat quite well) and then the end of the heated wand is applied to your bowl, thus burning without butane/ other wonderful chems...the taste is superb.

It tastes superb because you are vaporizing the THC and not releasing harmful/nasty biproducts of combustion

Straight Tubes are a lot better in my opinion. You can clear a straight tube in 1-2 seconds but beaker style ones takes more lung power and time to clear

lol actually they're pretty popular

as for what kind of bong
i don't really prefer one over the other
as long as it gets me high it's whatever
but if you're asking which i rather have i guess it depends on the bong
both can look amazing
