Replacing Female Bong Slide...

Does anyone have any tips? :bong: I just bought a new glass female slide, the old one broke... Tried to get it in there for like 2 hours, but it was a tight fit, and just shattered in my hand  :frown: I was using windex to try and 'lube' it I guess, cause that's what I've seen them use at the head shop. It sucked, that piece and grommet cost like $6 too! damnit..

I don't know what that is, but if you're after grommets, often hardware stores and rubber retailers have them a bit cheaper.

I'm assuming by slide you mean the pull out hitter piece/shotgun?

No, its the piece that the one hitter drops into. Its glass, cause I'm all glass  :stoned: The one hitter 'slide' is the male piece, the piece it drops into is the female.... The grommet was the tight fit, the glass shatter cause it would fit through I guess... I was thinking if these are standard size slides, I might have to get a glass bit for the Dremel and widen it out a little bit..

If you hadn't broke it, you may have been able to return it for the right size. I had to do this once. You'd think a headshop would know what size fits a graffix glass bong. They gave me a bunch of shit because they had a no return policy, and I'm like WTF? You guys told me this would fit! I was persistent though, and I got the right one. It wasn't like I was returning a pipe that I had smoked out of, just a stupid piece of hardware for god's sake.

If you still have the original broken one, clean all resin off it, then bring it to a headshop to find a match.

Have you tried searching on the net? Maybe you could look up the same bong and find out what size piece fits in there.

Yeah, I thought dish soap would of done the trick after I broke it... Which sucks, I guess I'll get a new one and try that  :tongue:

Try running hot water over the rubber piece to soften it up. This works well for me, and if I forget it is extremely difficult and I usually break the new female.

Also, avoid trying to replace your female when you've got buds in your pocket and on your mind. If you wait till you run out, you will be more mellow and less impatient to fix your bong and get high. I ruined several females because I was impatient and just jammed them in.

Females piss me off because they are expensive ($6 for a little pyrex tube). Fortunately, the shop I go to to has exactly what I need so there's no guessing as to the size or type of my female. Just remember that if you didn't have a female tube, you're bong or slide would've have broken when it fell off the coffee table. Instead, your slide is intact and your water-filtered smoking system will be running again for a few bucks.

Thanks for the tips man, I'll try the hotwater thing. It was probably real cold cause its winter, and was only inside a few minutes.. Also, i should of passed on the way home from the shop :smile:  :rasta: thanks for the tips.
