Pinning Problem

Ok i posted a while back that i birthed my cakes about 12 days ago. B4 i birthed i cold shocked and dunked for 12 hours; they are kept at 100% rh and 74 degress, i fan 4 times daily and have 12/12 of flourescent light, With in the last 6 days little "spikes" of myc. have developed. They dont look like pins, hyphal knots or primordia. They look more like little strands of myc. that are growing vertically. theres about 10 of them on my cake and they are about 2-3 mm tall any half a mm in diameter.(i wish had a pic to show you). Since there discovery there has been no noticable change in them what so ever. If these were developing pins shouldnt by now the would look more like pins and less like myc. "spikes". By any chance, does anyone on the boards know what this is? If there isn't any sign of growth in the next few days, do you think it would be ok for me to case them and see what happens.

"spiking" is normal!
just be patient... if you want it to pin it will pin;-)
