pinning problems?

alright well i'm not sure if i'm still being impatient or if i am actually having a problem now, i have had 4 of my 12 cakes pin and produce some very nice fruits already and 2 of the cakes are done w/the first flush, but the other 8 cakes haven't even got a single pin yet, and they have been in the terrarium for 12 days, i was under the assumption that they would all start pinning/fruiting around the same time but i got worried when some were done w/their first flush b4 the majority of the others even produced a pin...
also one of the cakes that was fruiting produced a really massive fruit, and it dropped it's spores all over the side of one of the cakes, is that a problem and if so what should i do about it?

when you birthed the 8 cakes that your hving problems with, where the 100% colonized and did they have pins?
as for spores of cakes.. it looks like shit but theres no growing problem happens everytime unless you have a spacefull set-up

that is kind of normal. my cakes do that at times also. from what i understand it has to do with multispore innocculation. did you use a spore syringe? if so then that is the deal. all of the shrooms and the mycelium have different characteristics so they will develope and fruit at a different rate. if you innocculate with mycelium that was grown from the flesh of a mushroom then all of the mushrooms that that innocculation produces will be clones and therefore they'll grow at the same rates. does that make any sense. do a search and read up on it some more but that is what i've learned

yea all of my cakes were 100% when i birthed them, and they all were from multi spore inoculation, so i guess i just have to wait and see what happens... also when harvesting, do you want to wait till all of the shrooms are ready to be picked or can you pick them one by one as they finish (they have pretty much stopped growing when the veil tears right?)

be very patient. you will learn patience when you grow mushrooms, it is definitely an art form.

How much light are you giving your cakes? Give them up to and including 24 hr light, flourescent is best.
