modified poor man's pod (underground!)
    #10837387 -

First off don't come just to bitch I amd quite serious about this situation and will consider any suggestion that will help the success of this champer. Thnks in advance

I have tried every possible way to try and do this insidebut i have resorted to moving it outside. Here my situation:

I'm using:

10 gallon rubber maid rough neck
60 gallon Tetra whisper air pump (25 feet of tubing 1/4 in)
25" bubble wand
100w aquarium heater
PVC to drip line mister
Wireless temp and humidity monitor

Here is the catch its buried underground....

I am running all water, electric, and air lines to the grow chamber from my room. Water and air are running through vinyl tubing with grommets to create seal and prevent contam. The electric is the same way with the cord exiting through a grommet. Two 1/4in holes have been made at top of chamber to allow CO2 to escape. All of this will be monitored wireless with a weather unit. The chamber will be vented at the top to allow CO2 to escape. Perlite along with the bubble wand will be used to help maintain RH. Two sections of the lid are clear plastic and have prisms hanging to assure the light is spread and not direct. The chamber is only burried enough to be out of sight easy access to the chamber is from a board resting on the ground surrounding it. The board has been cut to allow light to get to the clear part of the chambers lid but also has the option to cover to space for darkness.

Again, I know this is crazy but its my last resort and all I need is advice, answers, and concerns.

Questions:

How long should the mister run and for how many times per day?

How long should the air pump run and how many times per day?

How often should I check for contam?

Has this ever been done before?

And most of all, how should I best prevent contam?

All pictures posted are just to show you my setup, nothing is final yet.

(drip line mister)

* the power cable for the heater is not completely flush in the grommets as the 1/4in piping is therefore leaving very tiny openings. Should this be a problem?

the pics do not show the chamber in the final stages

I have a wireless monitor that is placed in the container that will relay info back to a panel for me that displays humidity and temp and will even predict future conditions.

how long will I have to run the air pump for?
I have been told both 24/7 and 15 mins every hour.
Can i "drown" the cakes in oxygen?

With it being underground I would think you would have to run air to it more frequent because there is not air underground, think of it this way there like animals could a cat survive underground?

It is a bad idea to do it completely underground, but I would like to see this work. But I have heard countless times that you can't achieve success if you try fully automated. The musshies require constant attention

wow, this is going to be a epic fail. i dont understand how that was a last resort...To what? theres no way you could keep the temp low enough, fae would suck ass, Just cause your pumping air into the fcdoesn qualify that as fae, not to mention how much gas build up your going to get. Sounds like a waste. My last resort wouldnt have been that choice no matter what...

the RH will be monitored min by min with a wireless monitor and display... bubble wands and perlite will be used to humidify
