So I was ordered Residential Treatment.

Well apparently for smoking pot, and doing Mushrooms this was ordered upon me.

There is clear and convincing evidence to believe that the respondent meets the criteria for Involuntary Treatment because, the respondent is substance abuse impaired and because of that impairment, the respondent has lost the power of self-control with respect to substance abuse and the Respondent has inflicted, or is likely to inflict physical harm on themselves or others unless admitted or the Respondent's refusal to Voluntarily receive care is based on judgement so impaired by reason of substance abuse that the respondent is incapable of appreciating their need for care and of making a rational decision regarding that need for care.

But there are no bed open in the center.

So I'm ordered to attend Intensive Outpatient treatment until a room is available.

urrr Freedom of choice? or Involuntary freedom of choice?

Ask them if you can get high for free in there. Otherwise i woudnt do it.

No I do not agree at all,

My whole family is filing this "March Man Act" on me
Whole family being My parents, and Grand Parents(Who I tend to stay away from religious freaks :nonono:)

Big grey zones in that statement. how can there be clear evidence of this? have you been arrested for drug use or arrested while damaging something or somebody while under the influence? i doubt this to be a case that can hold in any court.

I have been arrested before for "Possession"

But I was never found with Marijuana on me.
Someone called the cops, and told them that there weed was mine.

Who Can file a March Man Act:
In addition to a law enforcement officer's authority to implement protective custody measures in emergency involuntary situations, a private practitioner, the person's spouse or guardian, any relative of the person, the director of a licensed service provider or the director's designee, or any three (3) responsible adults who have personal knowledge of the person's substance abuse impairment.

Doesn't matter. If you refuse to participate in treatment they cannot hold you forever. If you don't feel that it is justified then don't go along with their nonsense. It wouldn't be easy, but in the end it would be satisfying.

Well, it's unfortunate, but I suggest you play along with your parents games until you can afford to leave and do your thing in peace. I don't mean to say that you should go to treatment to make them happy (that won't make them happy anyway, unless you change, and it doesn't sound like you will), and it's too bad that it got this far already, but you can do one thing, and that's pretend. Don't wax philosophical at your parents, don't let them think you're on drugs. You're not going to win if you fight "the system", and that's not who did this to you, it was your family. Play along. Be a spy. Don't get caught, and leave any differences you have with your parents at the door. At 19, you're only a stones throw away from being able to support yourself and getting away from all of this. It seems to me that the only way you're going to get out of treatment is to talk to your parents about alternative routes they can take to help you, to try to rationalize with them, to sympathize with them, etc. It might not be something you want to do, but they're your legal guardians and it sounds like they're willing to exercise every little bit of that "legal" part that they can.

wow... i would never forgive my parents for that.

Hire a lawyer dude. If you cant, go to the treatment center and do what you have to do

until you get home. When you get there just "act" like a kid who is definitely in the wrong place. Tell them your parents are overly religious and "mentally" abusive (really general category and im sure you could think of something)  then explain your parents used a loophole on you and forced you to be there cause you didn't accept their religious beliefs. What im trying to say is that if their forcing you to go, you might as well turn that shit back on them and give make their lives a little harder.

Apparently you only have a possession charge and that is hardly any grounds for residential treatment, so you totally have the shit in your favor. Obviously don't tell anyone you've done shrooms before (it is a "treatment" center and there is a very good chance some "Treated" dude might narc you out regardless of the drugs he/she did in the past)

Remember this is what I Would Personally Do if i was fucked over:smirk:

I've been in your shoes my friend. My family popped an intervention on me, upon which I was given the options of either being flown to some distant rehab facility or arrested.

I opted for neither and split the scene so fast that heads were spinning. I ran to my car and sped off. Unfortunately, my logic was not great enough to stop me from returning to my residence 80 miles away, where several police cars proceeded to swarm me. Little did I know that my family had gone through my apartment with the police only days before, in my absence and without my knowledge, looking for anything incriminating.

The next major point in the story is me being arraigned and threatened with "25 years or $375,000". I really felt like my family had helped me by that point.

Long story short, I took a "conditional discharge" because the offense was my first and such a provision existed for me. Of course, I could have fought the whole thing, and in many ways wanted to. I choose the path of least resistance. It included a provision that I obtain mandatory drug rehab, which sucked balls. However, I would prefer that to jail. All you have to do is act reformed. Drug treatment centers are textbook rackets. The harder you fight it, the more it will suck. Learn to play ball, tell them what they want to hear ("I've realized the errors of my ways, now that I'm not on drugs, and it is my most profound drive never to return to that state.") You get the idea. I can tell you everything about this game. I can coach you through the whole thing. Let me know, and I'll send a PM.

In my case, I certainly wasn't crazy. I came out the closet about my psychedelic drug use at the time, as it had impacted me tremendously. I was chock full of idealism and wasn't afraid to let anyone know. And that was a huge mistake. Keep that shit quiet son.
