Well, you will find the reports from the latest studies on depression on Google News

Some interesting stuff there. But as far as I'm concerned cognitive therapy, psychedelic psychotherapy and St. Johns Wort are still at the top of my list when dealing with depression.

Have you looked into DLPA ?

I have found this very useful in the past. It works very quickly.

I don't know too much about very new developments, but there are some well-researched methods that consistently show positive, long-term results. The most notable of these is cognative therapy.

Supplements or antidepressant medication can be useful for pulling you out of depression in the short term, which can enable you to better utilize a theraputic approach.

Novelty isn't necessarily the name of the game here - try going with what works. It's different for everyone however, and largely based on personal preference. Try not to build a long term dependency on antidepressants, if possible. Unless you're bipolar or schizophrenic (in which case medication is often necessary in the long term), anti-depressants shouldn't be used indefinately, as they seem to cover up symptoms rather than actually cure you.

Try to find a psychologist that is to your liking, if possible.

Nothing new I'm aware of. Of course nothing beats a healthy diet and exercise, but it's so much easier to pop a pill right?
