well we (humans) seemed to define "intelligence", and we fit our own criteria... so yes, we are.

did someone say that already?

We treat the Earth like we treat everything else, with extreme prejudice.  All I see is more of the same!

prejudice and intelligence dont necessarily negate each other on all counts.

youre asking about this word:

intelligence |inˈtelijəns|
noun
1 the ability to acquire and apply knowledge and skills : an eminent man of great intelligence | they underestimated her intelligence.
• a person or being with this ability : extraterrestrial intelligences.
2 the collection of information of military or political value : the chief of military intelligence | [as adj. ] the intelligence department.
• people employed in this, regarded collectively : French intelligence has been able to secure numerous local informers.
• information collected in this way : the gathering of intelligence.
• archaic information in general; news.

Do humans fit the 1st definition of the word?

Prejudice clouds the mind and severely restricts clear thinking.

Do you hear prejudice in psychedelic music? I realize that the musicians who create this music are often at the receiving end of prejudice but do you honestly believe that exceptional psychedelic music is actually perpetuating prejudice? And I'm not talking about the musical genre of "psychedelic music", I'm talking about music that was somehow inspired by psychedelic drugs. I understand that taking psychedelic drugs does not render someone incapable of prejudice but I think it helps. As far as I can tell there is a lot of music out there that does not promote prejudice.

I just don't think it is a fair statement to say that everyone of us is guilty of prejudice.

I never once said that!  We were talking about current trends in human behaviour, in general!  In that context, the bad far outweighs the good!

from where i am i see that when people say things like "the bad far outweighs the good", what they are saying is "I see more of what I dont like, than what I like".  And someone else may have different likes and dislike than you, So "it depends where you stand"... it depends on your perspective.

Im not trying to pick a fight with you, im just typing, so please dont take me too seriously

We have manipulated the world to suit our desires and dreams.  The world we live in today is a reflection of us and the evolution of our rational minds.

-----
Chasing rainbows: First people run towards the dream of getting rich, and then they have to run to stay rich. It is just like chasing rainbows or the horizon, it moves away from you as you move towards it, so you can never quite get there.

You spend your life running after something that is impossible to reach. You sacrifice your true life for a dream that can never come true.

You can live a never-ending dream or never-ending life, one or the other.

People spend all their time chasing things that are impossible to catch, and fighting battles when they are certain to lose. Could anything be less intelligent? This is why Jesus said that it is impossible for the rich to get to heaven.

There is no calamity greater than lavish desires. There is no greater guilt than discontentment and there is no greater disaster than greed.
Lao Tzu

Page 189 of The Present (with religion)

Okay, so we created the concept of intelligence, and we are able to receive and learn knowledge and information. I guess the better question would be: are we using our rational minds to the full potential? Are we using them to seek and learn the truth to overcome deception, or are we just playing games like the one mentioned above? Love/life and fulfillment are always found in the present, so why do we let the mind tell us that we need more "things" to be fulfilled?

It is quite lonely when you have gotten of the hamster wheel, and you just observe everyone run around in circles, missing their life, missing the present. Instead of standing there and doing nothing, or jumping back on the wheel, I want to help people realize that the truth and the life is all they ever really wanted, all they ever needed.

Or we have a neo-cortex and a limbic system:shrug:

I'm just playing devils advocate here.  There is definitely something about direct experience as a human being that is just amazing.  Although I don't think we are intelligent beings.  Look at what we are doing to our future offspring.  Kinda cynical thinking, but its just how i feel.

Please demonstrate that we continue to overpopulate and destroy our planet.

You just say these things like they are self evidence, but I'm not sure what you mean nor why you insist this is so.

It seems like just blind repetition of a popular notion, but why don't you justify its truth?

The truth is in front of our face. There many people who have bought into the denials and justifications of multibillion dollar industries and I just don't feel like trying to change their minds today.

There are many facts out there to support this somewhat obvious truth but if you really think you're right on this one why don't you prove me wrong?
