"A 350ft crop circle of an ancient Mayan symbol, said to be a sign of an impending apocalypse, has appeared in Wiltshire, England.

The giant pattern - thought to represent a traditional Mayan head-dress - appeared next to the tallest prehistoric man-made mound in Europe last week.

Members of the crop circle community believe the mystic symbol is a signal of the end of the 5,126-year Mayan 'Long Count' calendar on December 21, 2012.

Karen Alexander, a crop circle enthusiast, said: "This is one of the most interesting crop circles I have ever seen. It is definitely a Mayan symbol and we are sure it is linked to the Mayan calendar, which ends in 2012.

"It appears to be a warning about the world coming to an end when the calendar does. For the ancient Maya, reaching the end of a cycle was a momentous event, so we are taking this crop circle very seriously as an indicator of a possibly huge event in 2012."

Last month a 400-foot crop circle depicting a phoenix rising from the flames appeared in a barley field in Yatesbury near Devizes, Wiltshire.

Crop circle theorists believe the patterns are created by (ET) UFOs during nocturnal visits, or caused by natural phenomena such as unusual forms of lightning striking the earth, though the latter is highly unlikely."

Since the mayans were so obssessed with timekeeping, what will 12/21/12 hold? Their calendar simply ends so does that mean it is the end of linear time? Will our planet cease to exist and our individual consciousnesses become one? There are so many questions to be asked

cant tell for sure if it will end, Imo I think we are coming to the end of our life cycle. civilization rises,flourishes then falls.  but one thing is for certain, every time the Mayan calender cycles through something catastrophic accures. and 2012 December 21st is the end of the calender cycle. maybe they saw nothing after that time, meaning it all ends. who knows. we will find out in a few years.

A 2012 movie starring John Cusack and directed by the guy who did Independence Day and The Day after Tomorrow which should, undoubtedly, answer so many of the questions people hold about this date and the Mayan calender ending.:lol:

I've read so many different theories and ideas about it and I personally have no clue.  I do look forward to that date however and am curious to see how society reacts to it and the media.

I personally believe it is the beginning of something big, but either way if you go around telling people in the wrong way you seem crazy. Lately I have taken a rather successful approach of drawing on the latest of work of a great man named Ervin László, along with a little psychedelic mysticism of course.
