Sexual Cannibalism

There are several species of spiders, and of course, praying mantises, wherein the male is eaten during or shortly after coitus.

The question is, would humans do the same thing if it was part of our mating and we were aware of the inevitable results?

Then I went to the mall - and answered my own question.

Still, its good perspective to consider what ridiculousness we are programmed to do.  (like the mall you mentioned...)
