Police video from the scene

Published June 17, 2009

An in-car camera from Officer Alan Mitchell’s patrol car shows the collision that killed Jeremy Setzer, 24, at about 11 p.m. March 28 on westbound Clark Lane near Lambeth Drive. The video and audio system was activated when Mitchell turned on the emergency lights of the police car, but the system also captures a 20-second time period before that.

Yeah that's what I'm sayin. Honestly as much as I hate cops, this really wasnt his fault at all. I would totally have the cops back on this one.

I can't figure out wtf he was doing in the road.


He was laying stretched out, with his hands on the white line and his feet facing the middle of the lane.  When he sees the car coming he tries to get up & run, but gets hit just as he's gaining a foothold in the street.

Seriously, wtf.

yea, the cop got off on this.

what was first said when this happened was the guy who got ran over was walking his dog, the cops said he was laying in the road. didnt believe the cops, the video disappeared, then resurfaced and then posted today.

like someone said before me, anyone driving down that road would have ran him over. it just happened to be caught on film and by a police officer.

it remindes me of the game we played 10-15 years ago were 2 people lye down toe to toe and have to trust the other to tell if a car was comeing

FUCK. I couldn't listen to all of it. :sad:  I'm going to call suicide on this one...I can't think of any other conceivable reason why someone would lay down in the middle of the highway.

Definitely not suicide.  As he saw the car coming he tried to get up and run - it's quite clear in the video.

If you watch it closely a couple times in a row (that split second when it happens) you can tell that he gets up & tries to run.  Not typical of a potential suicide.
