WBS v PF

so i am planning my first grow using a monotub (2nd grow overall).
I'm going to mix my spawn with a coir/coffee/verm sub using a 1:2 ratio.
which is the best thing to colonize the jars to be used as spawn? I was planning on just doing regular pf cakes and then crumbling them up and mixing with the sub. Is WBS or anything else better than using regular pf cakes? i dont own a pc and wont be able to get one for a while, if that is the ultimate factor.

With no PC I've heard the PF cakes are the way to go. Stay away from grains until you get a PC. Good luck!

you can spawn cakes to bulk just fine. Grain is easier though because you can use larger jars and, its easier to break up.

WBS is fine, rye grain is better.

i guess i will just stick to the pf cakes then because of lack of pc.
One more question, if i am doing a coir/coffee/verm sub mix then what ratio should i use for it? 2:1:1? i was gonna do a 1:2 spawn ratio but i was confused about sub ingrediant ratio. Thanks in advance

I've heard rye is better, but WBS is alot cheaper and easier to find too.

But you're not going to do either without a pressure cooker so no need to worry about it.
